SHARE: The Unknown Beauty Of The 80's Vol. 300

Postby Rissan » Fri Dec 22, 2023 4:07 am

And that brings us to Volume 300. When the boxset of New Musik was announced in early January, this volume was the start of the whole extention of the series for this year. A friend of mine was interested in the production work of Tony Mansfield. And since he was very active in the eighties, I decided to create a new volume for The Unknown Beauty Of The Eighties series. And see where I end up in the end. My friend had to wait for nearly eleven months and a lot of new volumes before he finally got to see the result of a year of digging, buying and ripping.

So factual the conclusion is that this volume, which took eleven months in the making, with adding the last track just a couple of weeks ago, was the reason to continue for another year. Meanwhile I created a lot of new volumes and with the end of the year nearing decided to finally clean up that digital closet which I already promised last year. The result will be presented in the upcoming days untill new year's eve. Than the book of The Unknown Beauty Of The 80's will finally be closed.

Please note, this in NO way is intended to take away sales from any of the artists included here but rather a way
to discover or rediscover these timeless masterpieces.
Please support these bands if they should have material available! They deserve all the credit!
Up for one week.

Ris, My apologies to you and the loyal members of this forum for my long absence! I just wanted to take this opportunity to congratulate you on this incredible accomplishment. For anyone who has ever put a series together, I'm sure they will also appreciate the effort and dedication it takes to do something like this, especially a staggering 300 Volumes of mostly non-charting obscurities! You definitely kept me on my toes lol!

As many of us 80s diehards are now approaching 60yrs, it's crazy to think that after all this time, we still can't let go! I hope the future Wavers will make reference to this and other series featured here so they can continue to preserve our music for years to come...

With that said, a virtual applause from Toronto on a job extremely well done!

Thank You and Merry Christmas/Happy New Year to all!

Paolo

Ps: A wonderful tribute to the brilliant, Mr. Tony Mansfield!

Rissan, with all of the fantastic content added by this group's incredible members over the years you're the main reason I've kept coming back. I've dreaded the day you retire this series but here we are, and I'm already hoping you come out of retirement soon. That said, I have a bit of a backlog so hopefully you've changed your mind before I play that very last track.

Thank you for the years of eye (and EAR) opening insights to the genre we all love. Peace and Merry Christmas to you and yours.

And to everyone else here as well! Have a safe and happy holiday season!

Thanks digitalpress, for the kind words. Luckily for you, and all who followed the series, the series will end with a bang, which will give you some weeks listening in the new year.

Ris, you've done a magnificent job of helping preserve these lost gems for years to come! 300 volumes as absolutely amazing, and I can't thank you enough for the gift of music you've shared over the years.

Between your collections, Gazebo's LBNF series, and the work of many others on here, you've made our world a better place.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to the entire NWO family!
