"No Mercy for the Dead" - by who? 1st Goth?

Postby SteveStrummer » Mon Jul 04, 2005 5:06 am

I remember first encountering Goth rock in school and thinking it could all be traceable to a single song I'd seen performed on Peter Ivers' "New Wave Theater": it was a hair-straightening dirge called "No Mercy for the Dead", and just I can't remember the name of the band who did it? I wonder if anyone else here remembers it, or knows the name of the band? Does anyone have the song, or better yet the video from NWT?? Thanks!

OMG thank you: that is so cool to hear! (there's no video in there that I'm missing, is there?) Too bad it's only got "A Date with Jack"; it's good but I must keep looking for "No Mercy for the Dead".
So far I've discovered: bassist Alice Bag supplied the page you gave, and her website is very entertaining.

Castration Squad singer Mary Batthing changed her name to Dinah Cancer when she joined 45 Grave; she just played a gig last month at Whiskey-a-Go-Go in LA!

Here's a great concert flyer:
