I just sent it; check your mailbox.

And I have lots of Opal; let me know if there's anything else you'd like from them. Or Kendra Smith.[:)]

OMG K, thank you!! Listening to that song again means a lot to me. Damn, I am so glad I stumbled across this New Wave Outpost thing-!! You all rock!!

Already I have 2 from my list: Opal from you, and Larry Wallis on the hub! Whoo-hoo!

I didn't want to add this because I'm not sure of the song title or even if it really was Kendra Smith, but I'm going to ask now anyway because everyone has been so nice: "Temporarily Lucy". I think-?? Or was it someone else?

It doesn't sound familiar to me as being from Kendra Smith, but I'll see if I can look that up. Anyone else?

Didn't Kendra Smith play on the Dream Syndicate album "Days of Wine & Rose"? I only have a couple of songs from that ("Halloween" & "Tell Me When It's Over") and I really loved that record. If you have any of it, I'd be grateful: the one I'm dreaming of right now is "Until Lately"!

I have:
Kendra Smith's 1983 0r 84 solo EP Fell from the Sun. It's acoustic folky goodness.

Opal: pretty much everything

Dream Syndicate: I only have 1 song: "When You Smile", which is highly distorted and GOOD. Kendra Smith was with them in the early days (before 1983-4) along with bandmate David Roback. She and David then did her solo stuff, and then formed Opal; and then she went solo without him in around 89, and then he eventually formed Mazzy Star with Hope Sandoval.

Frank: Thanks! I actually found Larry Wallis, but man I'm looking forward to that BowWowWow song! That's a hard one to find, for sure.

KYYX: Mazzy Star, huh? I didn't know that! That's cool: they're still together, right? Oh, and I would *love* "When You Smile", that's a great song!! As for Kendra's solo, can you check the track list for "Temporarily Lucy" or anything like it? I would've sworn that was Kendra.

*edit* I'm trying to send "When You Smile" but it's not going thru, so I'll try again later this afternoon.

I just sent you "When You Smile". Enjoy!

kendra Smith's solo EP Fell From the Sun (1984) has the following:

1. Fell From the Sun
2. Lullabye
3. All Souls
4. Grains of Sand

I also have a CD single called "Valley of the Morning Sun". I will look into "Disappearing Lucy". I have never heard of it.

As far as I know, Mazzy Star are still around.
Kendra Smith is still doing solo stuff, but I have no idea if there's been any new naterial lately.

I found it! It's on her 1995 solo album, "Five Ways of Disappearing":

Don't have an mp3 yet, though :(
