Hello from the Gutter

Was the song "Hello from the Gutter" from the movie Summer of Sam ever released, or available in some form or another?
It doesn't appear on the movie's soundtrack. It was performed by the "band" in the movie. I thought it had a nice cbgb's era girl-punk vibe to it.

You mean the one by Overkill? The title just came off to me as a poor man's "Welcome to the jungle". I remember the video vaguely.

No - it wasn't Overkill.
The song was performed by Jennifer Esposito, one of the actresses in the movie- two of the characetrs were in a punk band circa '77 - 78.

It wouldn't suprise me if it was a cover of an Overkill song recorded sometime in in the '80's. The movie was directed by Spike Lee & he's not really known for continuity or fact checking.

I think it's a lost cause - I should just rent the dvd and rig my cdr up to it.
