Posted: Fri Mar 20, 2026 8:37 pmAssuming not so many people have this one, since it never shows up on Soulseek and for reasons I suspect are related to publisher Parachute, has not been made available on digital music platforms. Dortmund's arena rockers Fairies Welcome released two albums between 1988 and 1991. I had never heard of them until the track 'Red Lines' from their 1988 self-titled debut was shared by Gazebo (thanks!), but immediately knew I wanted to get all their material. Germany's answer to Then Jerico? Perhaps.
Anyway, Love Sweat is not as good as their first release but still has its moments, in particular a very strong middle section. 'Wild Eyes' is probably the best of the bunch on this record, capturing a lot of the magic of the first outing. Enjoy

Also, after hearing 'Red Lines', I bought the first album on iTunes only to be incredibly disappointed by the sound quality throughout, especially on the bigger songs' crescendos. I'm not sure if this is a perceptual codec distortion, true clipping, or if the original vinyl just has horrible mastering, but it really ruins a great album with talented vocals and instrumentation. If anyone knows what's going on with this, if you own the original vinyl or an old rip, please let me know. Obviously if its part of the original mastering, nothing can be done, but I'd love to have a high quality version of this album. Many thanks!
