Anyone else hooked on YouTube.com?

Since I'm alone this Father's Day (my dad died last year, my daughter lives with her mother 1000 miles away in Oregon and my wife is out of town), I've been spending a lot of time on Youtube. Last night, after sleeping for 2 hours, I awoke at 1am in the morn and sat on youtube for 3 hours before going back to bed!

I typed in Ultravox, China Crisis, Nik Kershaw and whoever else I could think of and watched old videos and TV peformances. Some are of better quality than others, but it's addicting...

I've scanned through it from time to time when the inspiration strikes. It's surprising how much vintage material shows up there. Even doing a search on David Sylvian brings up a plethora of live material that I'd not seen before.

Sorry to hear about your Dad. We can't be with mine today as my Mrs has a horrible viral chest infection and doesn't want to share the bug with him and my Mom, so we're putting our visit off for a week. He's not so well either so this might be the last one.('Running out of string' is how my 87 year old father in law puts it.)

I know EXACTLY what you are talking about Spaz. (((Welcome Back BTW[:D]))

FYI: here's <a href="http://www.nwoutpost.com/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=9379"target="blank">another thread</a> on the topic.

There are some pretty amazing (and vile) video links to be had on that site.

Many hours I have spent on this latest form of internet crack.[}:)]

Lately I've nicked (via a <a href="https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/2390" target="blank">neat little firefox plug in</a>) quite a few flv files of music vids ranging from Miles Davis to The Roc Project.

There's some funny stuff on there. I found one of Duran Duran doing 'friends of mine' in 1982 and Simon Le Bon went mad and pulled the metal horns and had a fit on the floor dancing LOL[:)]

^ (shrug)

I must have missed something in that! (drink more coffee TM!)

There is just something about watching arms snap and the snap-ees holding up their arms in horror while they have a right-angle in their forearm that really packs my pickle.

(no.. sorry no idea where I got "really packs my pickle" from.. (drink LESS coffee TM))

I post a music video every few days to my blog. I want to at least go through the alphabet once before I start posting at random, so now I'm at "s." Enjoy Ghost Town if you'd like to see today's post.
