Why is it That...

I can listen to music for hours and hours. I really love it.

But, I cannot watch music vidoes. For some reason I get bored. It ruins it for me, I am just not sure why! Aren't we men supposed to be soooo visual???

Whatever, I guess.

Although I love watching music videos, I can understand you. I guess it's because most are really bollocks. Seen as a main means to promote the artist, not the content (ok, often the content is rubbish, too), the video is merely a platform to provide new pictures of the artist and to generate a certain image. For the directors, the videos often are a playground for new technology or a chance to make some of their ideas come true without bothering too much about what these ideas do with the song.
There are exceptions to the rule, of course. Personally, I like the original promo of Blue Monday, Fagen's New Frontier/Snowbound because they are more experimental than others. Well, just my taste, I guess.

I used to be really into videos... IN THE 80's that is!

But that was when I actually had the time to watch them. I guess I'm older or whatever, but I usually don't seek out a band's video, I might just come across it then I'll watch it. I think the last ones I went seeking out were the videos from DM's Playing the Angel. For some reason they're not that important to see anymore. Isn't it all about the music anyway?

I actually can do both. When I get a video I like in, I will stay up until 2-3 in the morning to watch it until it's over. [:)]
