Unknown 1983-1987 song

Postby fictionfactory1984 » Mon Mar 20, 2023 8:37 am

Hi all! I've found this song on a 1987 valencian club mixtape, so must have been released on vinyl in 1987 or before. They usually played indie/alternative rock here during the 80's at clubs, including some now obsucre 80's tunes. Does anyone know the artist or the title of the song? Thanks in advance.

I tried to write the lyrics:

(?),motorcade
you would drink a cup of (?)
sea of drizzle, and it’s falling (?)
in different parts of the world
funny letter, to a friend
that had abandoned me
down a somber dream,
and listen (?) to me

would not his handsome face,
create havoc in a young person’s heart?
would not his pretty shade,
force an entry on such a person’s heart?

In time we strive in the guest bedroom
he’ll paint for you, if you sing his tune,
you wear the yellow basquine,
of you, so good, so good.

Egon Schiele(?), liquor swamp,
up on the high esteem,
circum ladder, smoked room
high on the gasoline,
and high on the self-esteem,
you may (?) sat alone

would not his handsome face,
create havoc in a young person’s heart?
would not his pretty shade,
force an entry on such a person’s heart.

In time we strive in the guest bedroom
he’ll paint for you, if you sing his tune,
you wear the yellow basquine,
of you, so good, so good.

Looks like The Bathers - Yellow Buskin. The only version I can find online is a modern rendition but the lyrics seem to match.

Wow, that's the song! I've just checked the original 1987 version, thanks! It was a B-side of one of their 80's singles, can you believe I was just listening to their 1987 LP today? Shame that song wasn't included there.
