Duran Duran "remaster" request

Postby djdave » Tue Mar 30, 2010 3:16 pm

Ah great, this is so disappointing and i haven't even recieved my order yet (i live in Canada).
Now i don't even have it front of my, but the box set of the singles i thought sounded very good....was that a 2003 master job ?
Hopefully - if there is such a "out cry", maybe there can be a recall just like the New Order reissues. ( i know that wasn't because of a bad remaster job ).
I don't think anybody was happy with the S and the Banshee masters either and that was a different guy - (?)
God i hope - as stated, the forthcoming Notorious and Big Thing remasters are not gunna be Hacked up.

We do have to make ourselves heard to the labels though - I 100% endorse the campaign on here to contact them, bombard them with complaints. Coming on here and venting is all well and good but it won't change anything.

There should be a recall and replacement of the Duran & Spandau sets.

Hi all, new to the outpost!

Such a shame to hear about the bad mastering of the new special editions. I had high hopes for Arcadia, Notorious and Big Thing.
I have sent a message to Katy at Duranduran.com informing her of the problem and surely she will pass the info on to the guys and hopefuly they can do something about it quickly before the other albums suffer the same fate. I would encourage others to send a polite message to her as well informing her of your thoughts concerning the new releases. If the Gods smile down on us maybe the problem will be corrected.

Yes i could do with a nice massage myself after this nonsense[;)] But seriously though those forthcoming remasters will have been manufactured as in the case of Arcadia which is due for release in less than two weeks and the Duran ones a bit later. So i honestly cannot see them delaying the release date to fix all these. The main thing i think most people will want to know is if Andy Walter is involved in these projects in which case we can all boycott these releases and hopefully that will get the message across that we are not going to put up with these shite releases.

I'm just wondering if anyone has contacted EMI and told them of the bad mastering job with the cd's.
