Anyone know anything about this band? Their '84 album was released by Wounded Bird last year. I found a used copy at Amoeba in Hollywood. I can't find much info about the band online, only a YouTube video for their song "Girls Like You" that features Robin Wright Penn. It's not really new wave, but more "Rock Of The '80s." Produced by Ted Templeman. Anyone? Anyone?

Well, according to the amazon description:

First time on CD for this 1984 album from the Pop/Rock outfit featuring future Crowded House member Mark Hart.

I listened to a couple of their songs on youtube. Very power pop. Very 80s. Not bad. Thanks for bringing them up.

They were a quintet based in SoCal. Frontman was Randy Foote, whom it might have behooved to brush his hair before he filmed a videoclip about how much girls really like his style. Their Warner Bros. album sank like a rock and they were dropped. (Templeman's production was strangely flat.)

They later changed their name to The Dig, and resigned to Atlantic. As The Dig, they had one self-titled album in 1987. Which also sank.

The Dig's 2 singles (whose videos were on MTV briefly in the first half of '87) -- "Chances" and "Foreign Girl" -- were not bad songs. But they lacked a grabber that would have gotten them noticed, and they never really got much promotion anyway.

there are actually a couple of their songs on youtube that aren't on the CD release. I don't know if they were earlier singles or what, but I actually like them better than most of the stuff on the CD. I found only two songs on the CD that were appealing to me from an 80s music perspective.

I downloaded the "Girls Like You" clip off their YouTube page a few years ago when I noticed it was finally online. Was looking all over for that damn thing for the better part of 2 decades. They also had a fragment of the "Chances" clip on there but it was in B&W for some reason. That video played on TV in color. The "Foreign Girl" video, that one was B&W.

I can't recall a promo video for their second Warner Bros. single, "It's All Over Sue," and the performance clips that they had up there were songs that never made it to their studio albums.
