Guys, if you haven't picked this one up, you're missing out. I still am in amazement that this was released. [;)]

Sean I must admit I do like some very obscure 80's bands but had never heard of these , have listened to a few tracks and think they sound really good , have ordered the CD from the US so will have to wait a while for it to be delivered to the UK, this is what i like about this forum , I thought i had quite an in depth knowledge about 80's electronic and new wave but I have got introduced to a lot more stuff through this site

I got my copy today and I am utterly blown away. It doesn't get any more complete and definitive than this. The only other track of theirs that I know of that isn't here is called Mercenary.

Could that be a remix of the song "No Gift Refused"? I only ask because they repeat "You seem so mercenary" throughout the song.

It is, and I think the "Mercenary" remixes were Razormaid mixes, so Wounded Bird likely couldn't get the rights to include them.

yeah, sorry. it's the same song with a different title, but other than the razormaid mix, there's also the BSD Calhoun mix of Mercenary, which is on the CD "Hi-NRG Dance Classics volume 1".

i have both volumes of hi-nrg dance classics.

mercenary (no gift refused) (b.d. calhoun mix) (6:40) on volume 1 is the razormaid mix, unless there's more than one razormaid mix (i'm no razormaid expert).

the liner notes say the album version of mercenary is called "no gift refused" and that it (b.d. calhoun mix) was done by joseph watt for razormaid in 1986.
