If I had to guess I think this is the proper context of the comments.

Because their singer is a sell out who's gone back on just about everything he said making his time in the band little more than a lie?
He's now a politician for the ALP (Australian Liberal Party) and has spoken in favour of American Military bases going against what he said in the song U.S. Forces. He's also spoken in favour of uranium mining having spoken out against dangerous forms of mining in the past as heard on Blue Sky Mine.

'Beds are Burning', probably their best known song is about giving the native lands back to the natives yet Garrett was conspicuously quiet on this matter when the prime minister sent in the military to reclaim the land back from the indigenous people.

He's a spineless hypocritical sellout.
It just makes things that little more embarrassing when you've loudly nailed your colours on certain topics and you've changed your stance with barely a whimper as to why, to use a mixed metaphor.

I knew you would be lurking in the shadows.....

Dont ever remember me saying anything positive or negative about the singer......just said the band had done a few decent tunes over the years....a statement which can be made about many a band from that era....

Also my statement about politicians was a general statement about all of em........not specifically about that sole person.

In future i shall keep my political views to my usual board for this and not on here.....to avoid confusion[;)]

Well Magnum-Truth, you've got them in the correct order I'll credit you that.

As for the context, there isn't one. I just don't think much of him as a person.

I find the aspect of your post listed above spurious to say the least.....and you say my last post was curious......

Lol! :D

I couldn't think of a correct metaphor to use at the time so mixed two up to get my point across. Well, that was the plan anyway. [:o)]

I agree with what you've said, you've been upfront about what you've posted and haven't changed on it, I don't see what the problem is.

I will head your advice on posting about politics, certainly better to keep it to a more suitable place.
