Sam Brown - Number 8 2023

Sam Brown - Number 8 2023

Postby Uvox » Sat Jan 28, 2023 6:57 am

From a music news site:

Samantha (Sam) Brown is a British singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, arranger, lyricist and producer. The daughter of the famous British rock and roll artist Joe Brown and singer Vicky Brown. She is known for her expressive manner of performance and the ability to easily mix various musical styles - soul, pop, blues, rock and roll. Her most famous song is "Stop!" (a 1988 single). In addition to working on her albums, Sam Brown is known for traveling around the world with the band Pink Floyd as a backing vocalist in the mid-90s.

After a long break in her career, Sam Brown returns with a new full-length album, called "Number 8", which became her first new studio work in 15 years. In 2008, the singer lost her voice. She had surgery on her ligaments, but problems with her voice have persisted to this day. To record this album, special software was used to amplify and process vocals. "Number 8" shows that, despite the difficulties that life can present, it is important not to give up, but to continue moving forward.

"Those who are familiar with Sam's impressive track record as a singer, writer and backing vocalist (George Harrison, Pink Floyd, Jools Holland, Spandau Ballet, Eric Clapton, Jon Lord, Deep Purple and many others) will find a familiar musicality along with the production of her song. Written with longtime friend Danny Shogger and mixed with her brother Pete Brown, Number 8 strikes the ear with an energy and sincerity that will capture and excite listeners, whether they know about her legendary career or not."

I always liked Sam Brown. An expressive singer and solid talent. Good to see her overcoming her medical issues.
