RIP Tom Verlaine 28/01/2023

Postby Charlayme » Sun Jan 29, 2023 2:47 am

Tom Verlaine died on Saturday 28 January of a "short illness" at the age of 73.
I belatedly appreciated this artist through his 1990 album "the wonder". I found a subtle, elegant guitar playing. I found these same impressions on "flash light". "The Wonder" doesn't seem to be appreciated by the music world and that didn't encourage me to discover Television.
Being almost not broadcast in my country and the professional life obliging, I lost sight of this artist.
If you have any advice on how to rediscover this artist, I'd love to hear it.
I'm off to listen to the 2 albums mentioned above again.

You should listen to Television's album "Marquee Moon"

Television were astounding. Verlaine's death is a real loss of a serious artist who didn't waste my time.
