<br>I have to admit, I have been contacted by someone who is concered as to what source material is being used. The person shared with me some promo artwork, and may have some inside info. Though I won't be buying either of these, I will be interested in hearing feedback on the quality of the final products. Edsel seem to be slipping in quality as of late...

Ugh, are you confirming my worst fears? Do I detect vinyl source material for those 12" remixes? Perhaps cassettes? Any chance you might share that inside info? I doubt we'll ever see these reissued again and if they blow it I'll be resigned to self made, cobbled together collections. Sigh.

On a related note, I just saw a Japanese reissue of
"Here's To Future Days" at a record store. It came out in 1997 - does anyone know if it's remastered?

No sign of the 12" version of 'The Gap' which leaves the collection a might incomplete. 'Love Lies Fierce' has to be one of the great remixes of the lot, excellent synth drums, pumped up at the beginning, played them both to death since burning records to cd. Hope the remasters are better than my burnt versions.

i'll take the full versions of the 12" singles over "the gap" club version any day, especially since all the other releases of these mixes are edited in some way. the only one findable in it's full 12" glory on "greatest mixes"?

"the gap".

it's there, although unremastered. but still... "funeral dance" and "still water"!!! hooray!

It's "remastered" but in a hardly noticeable way. It's worth picking up and does not have the superfluous track "Roll Over."

Yeah, I like Roll Over too.

Anyone know the story about why it was later included?

I hope that's the case, because if it is I will by Quick Step for the 6th time. That equals 1 LP, 1 cassette and 4 CD issues.

The new release of 'Desperate' by the Divinyls is in no way remastered. The sound quality is very poor! Honestly, I do not know what the source is? My guess is a direct vinyl transfer with minimal clean up. They could have at least used the original Chrysalis CD and enhanced that but instead we receive a crap transfer with a huge bass problem throughout. The bass is very low and when trying to boost it the song becomes very drained.

There are noticeable hiss and click sounds on some of the tracks. The packaging is poor but that has nothing to do with the CD quality.

Overall I am very unhappy with this purchase. Caroline claimed this was going to be remastered CD and apparently it’s not. I had even contacted Mark Opitz (produced the album) and funny thing is, he had no idea this was even released.

If anyone gets a hold on these today, please post your findings (and wave graphs if possible) on here. Amazon.com lists them as "out of stock" now.

Glad to see you are still around Chris. I hope to god these are good because they'll never get reissued on a physical format again.
