Spandau Ballet True & Parade

Postby omar » Tue May 04, 2010 3:08 am

It seems that on Parade, Round & Round might've been duplicated. Wasn't the album version the same as the long version ?

Yes they do look good but will they sound good ? Not if a certain Mr Walter is involved they will probably sound like shit. I will hold off before i buy these till somebody has posted a review about them somewhere.

same here, will definetely wait before getting them, tracklist reads well - nice to have the 1983 gig on dvd + an 85 show on the 2nd disc of Parade.

The True set looks good, not so sure about Parade, as i have most of the bonus tracks already. Not too bothered about the live stuff.

The 2002 Reformation masters were quite good. I wonder how different the 2010 ones will be?

They are available to preorder on amazon now. Parade is a bargain at £34.99 and True is a real steal at £41.99. I just hope they come with parental advisory stickers on them if they have been remastered by Andy Walter.

Seems to be the trend now with new release dates being changed left right and centre either that or they fuck up remasters. Personally i'm going to wait till i hear some positive reviews about these releases before i part with my cash i don't want to end up with a coaster like Journeys To Glory was.

[/quote] As well as the 7" versions of Only When You Leave & I'll Fly For You. By the way you can check out Highly Strung (version) at this link: stylecouncillor.wordpress.com. From there look under the synthpop catagory.

Aren't the 7" versions the ones on The Singles Collection? The times seem to match up.

This is probably not the place to ask, but, would anyone have a copy of the concert Spandau did for BBC Radio 2 late last year? I missed it and it doesn't seem to be around anywhere - Dimeadozen, Demonoid etc. I would love to get a copy if anyone can help.

Here's hoping!

I've ordered Parade through Amazon so it should be here soon. I'll post a review ASAP. As for True I've yet to order it as I already have the 2003 remaster which was quite good. I can wait on the bonus stuff.

I feel like i'm the first one in the world reviewing this but I'm happy. I got my copy of Parade today and bought True as well for a mere $24.99 ( 3 discs)... not bad. True first: The main album (disc 1)is the 2003 remaster. Disc 2 is the real deal with all the mixes of the singles. Lifeline appears with all 4 different versions sounding excellent. Communication appears twice in an edited and Ext. club mix. Gold is always awesome in it's 12" version as well as an edited instrumental. Finally the title cut shines through with the instrumental version as well as the 2002 special remix. Now the dvd: Picture quality was quite fair and it was good to see all the clips of the ever so handsome Tony Hadley and crew looking ambitious in their suave outfits. By the way our fiend Andy Walter did a fairly good job of True. Haven't listended to Parade yet !
