<br>if this is true, it kind of bites. I'm not a fan of their albums (listened to sound samples and found them incredibly boring and not even vaguely new wave), but they do have a couple of songs on each album that I've always wanted to add to my collection.
That's the problem; they weren't trying to be "new wave",
hence they weren't "new wave". Listen to the cover versions.
Sly Stone? Monkees? ? and the Mysterians? No, this is not a personal slam at all, but "new wave"? No. Isn't anyone else sick of labeling this music? Pretty pointless!

I noticed that flaw on the AFOS "Story of a young heart", "Keepin the '80s alive!"
What's up with the "Story" reissue? I haven't compared the 2, but
is there a major difference in the sound quality of the CR issue and the Beehive(at least they got it right!)issue? Then again, my only cd listening time is in the car.

Apparently, there's 2 of the same tracks on the remaster. Plus, some of the quality on the remaster isn't very good.

As in 2 of the same songs? Hmmmm. Mine seems ok if that's the case.

Yes, supposedly, 2 of the same songs are scattered on the cd. One of the mixes thats supposedly listed in the bonus tracks as one thing...is not, but the same song @ a different number.

reviews on amazon point out the duplicated tracks on the AFOS disc. I can't understand why everyone who gets and is disappointed by these CDs doesn't immediately go on amazon and review them to point out the flaws. I make sure to do it every time so fellow collectors will know what they're in for.

Good point. I have to say that my copy is fine, though.

As is mine. The only two tracks with similar track lengths is the two versions of "Remember David", but they're clearly different.

Man, I wish we could just get Rubellan to remaster everything. He definitely seems to take great pride in what he does. How do all these recent botch jobs (Vitamin Z, AFOS, New Order, Spandau, et al) get out the door?

Hey rubellan, the Toyah CD wouldn't happen to be Desire, would it?

Unfortunately, no. It's a remaster of Dreamchild with several unreleased tracks from the same era (that needed some major work). Though I'm not a fan of Dreamchild, I appreciated the request for me to do the remastering.

I checked again, and the bonus "More you live" 7 inch is the album
version. If i hear it once, i tend to skip it the 2nd time. Still,
it's not like the single mix is hard to find. "Remember David" is a different mix, though.

Riverman, can you point out how Remember David is two different mixes? I've tried to detect it, but I can't. Any particular spot where it's most noticeable in terms of instrumentation or reverb or something? I thought they were the same version not only because they sound the same, but because the original 7" version is about 30 seconds shorter than the album version, but on this disc, they are both the same length.

The thing that strikes me right away is the snare drum; very dry
and a lack of reverb. I'd have to listen again to it to find more
differences!
