NEW SO 80's vol.3

Postby chris74 » Sat Aug 07, 2010 7:39 am

Since I already own the previous two volumes, yes, the first CD is a mix. So far they carefully blended one song into the other without any additional beats that would be completely unnecessary. Nice to listen to but certainly not essential. I reckon that the two 12" versions by Bryan Ferry and Howard Jones are immaculate since Ferry's song was available already on one of his official compilations (in Japan) and Howard Jones released his 12" as a download on iTunes. And on both versions I could not find any crackles.

For volume two Blank and Jones did a very good remix of Kim Wilde's "Kids in America" (available as a download only; unfortunately) and they wrote that they even got the original tapes to do so.

This is all over the internet to download now. I have had a listen to most of the tracks and they sound loud as hell. Why do they persist in doing this with this loudness crap[?]

I just ordered my physical copy today. Despite most of the songs probably being too loud and harsh I still can enjoy it. Like I've stated before, I will admit that I like my music loud. However, I don't like it so loud that it sounds harsh to the ear -- and unfortunately, several of these tracks suffer that fate. Shame.

There is too many tracks on it that i already have and for the sake of the couple of tracks that i don't have i couldn't justify forking out £15 for this and being loud as hell doesn't help either.
