TALK TALK new collection + Natural History reissue

I am not sure that the versions on the mini album is any different from anything else but I just love 80's mini albums. I remember how cool it was to see this one in the stores.

I hear you. Music labels were more creative back in the 80s. In addition to the mini albums, I also miss those cheap sampler albums (eg. Vertigo Sample, London Sampler), and low-priced releases (eg. 12" for the price of a 7", or EP priced as a 12" single).

I discovered some cool shit by buying those types of releases blindly.

I keep wishing Talk Talk would find a bunch of tracks they worked on and never released during the period of the first three albums and release them.

The thing about "unreleased music" is this: if a group has a recording contract with a major label, they typically record in an expensive studio with an expensive producer, so they only create just enough for an album. Any B-sides are usually produced cheaper, or only remixed from existing material. However, if a group owns their own studio, it is a different situation and they usually have lots of unreleased materials. However, it's not certain that much of it is "finished", but rather in various forms of completion and the group may therefore not be keen on releasing it. (Naturally, with PRINCE it's a differemnt affair, because he completes tracks in a few hours and shelves entire albums away like other groups shelve tracks!)
