So 80s Volume 8

If I understand the text correctly, all of the 12" mixes found in this latest installment have been carefully transferred from the original master tapes and the So80s mastering by Blank & Jones has yielded the best quality for true connoisseurs of the Loudness War.

I doubt that after seven volumes they would change their methods, but we'll see...

you understand that correctly, at least it is written like that - like you, I find it extremely hard to believe it will happen...

Ok 1/4 of the tracks have been revealved and I am generally not jumping up for joy yet. Crossing my fingers for the remaining 3/4's of the tracks. Wish they would get rid of the mixed 3rd disc and just give us another full cd of extended unmixed versions.

I suppose the biggest draw here will be the US remix of Dancing With Tears In My Eyes which hasn't been available on CD before. I have avoided these compilations for two reasons the first being they are only available on import and overpriced and the second and most important reason is that they are compressed to hell and way too loud that they make your ears bleed and i can't see this volume being any different.

Pretty interesting tracklisting and although it's not stellar, they did try to go for tracks that are not the norm on these compilations. Pretty happy they are putting Space Monkey on there.

I will definitely be getting this volume since it is loaded with quite a few gems and rarities. From what I can see, a handful of these tracks are making their CD debut:

Walking On Sunshine (Extended Mix) - Katrina And The Waves
Pop Goes The World (Dance Mix) - Men Without Hats
Dancing With Tears In My Eyes (U.S. Special Re-Mix) - Ultravox
When Your Heart Is Weak (Dance Mix) - Cock Robin

Am I correct with these titles? Are there more? I've actually been looking for all of the above on CD for ages, especially that Cock Robin track!

I own none of these - but if the quality was good - I'd be most interested in this one.

I think that the quality should be good?...
We can't believe this: so8os [so eighties] 8 will be the first official cd release with the Extended Version of the worldwide smash "Walking On Sunshine" by Katrina And The Waves! The Master Tape comes straight out of the EMI/Abbey Road Archives and we thank the whole licensing and archive department for their patience on this search!
Hello so8os lovers…it's getting hot in our kitchen…finalising the new so8os 8 3xCD release and this fantastic Michael Cretu track will have it's world premiere as 12" Version on CD! "Gambit" is really a hidden treasure and we are so proud to have on the new CD Box in full Original Master Tape Quality!
Just received the full 24 BIT Master of this amazing mix from Bronski Beat's "Hit That Perfect Beat". To our knowledge never released on cd anywhere officially before. The quality is really mindblowing!

Available on amazon for preorder at £18.52 they can keep it. I have heard all the previous volumes in this series and they sound horrendous also they may be using original master tapes but that's no excuse to crank the volume up on them.

The Men Without Hats has appeared on the "Pop Goes The World" cd single. It is a little hard to track down though.
