Indians In Moscow, greatest hits of some sort

Oh yes please! Perhaps with a bonus dvd of the Fever Tree 'Live In London' gig I was at. I can dream....[:D]

And thanks Moni, regarding Hysteria & Frankie. I noticed Hysteria for $20 on Amazon too, will have to make a quick decision on that. I bet the Frankie japanese title will be expensive, although the dvd looks tempting for the 'live' version of 'Relax'. I assume this is the version recorded for the US, I was at the recording for that (at Brixton Academy). You wouldn't happen to know if it's been released on anything else?

The remaining OMD albums

Arcadia - So Red The Rose with single and 12" mixes plus a DVD of the videos
oh HELLS yes. and i'll second (or third) the "youthquake" and "mad, bad..."- oh and "folk of the 80's III" too...

i would LOVE to have b-52's "mesopotamia" and "whammy" and "bouncing of the satellites" remastered with bonus tracks. le sigh... i can dream.

it has always baffled me about "cupid and psyche" sounding so bad and muffled, considering how great it sounded then on vinyl and cassette- but that's a vinyl master used for cd i guess. i'd love to hear this cleaned up.

what else: oh, toni basil's first one, complete with "rock on" would be great, and the long version of "shopping a to z" and the mix of "you got a problem"...

oh! and king's "steps in time" remastered with all that extra stuff would be great. my beloved oglio cd has vanished, i don't know where it went... and i'd like it to sound like the "bitter sweet" remaster anyway...

p.s. that "return to the pleasuredome" is kooky. the usual songs, and then suddenly all of those bsides! what a wealth of useless stuff, too. there's only one or two worth a shit, in my opinion.

Toni Basil's second one as well, with all the 12" mixes would be great. And definitely a reissue of the King would be ideal.

Here are some to ponder:

Sad Lovers & Giants - Entire back catalogue, remastered w/bonus tracks (no, the current issue of Epic Garden Music is not remastered)

Comsat Angels/Dream Command - Hopefully Renascent (if they get the rights) finishes this off eventually (Land, 7 Day Weekend, Chasing Shadows, Fire on the Moon) along with a proper Best Of

The Sound - Thunder Up (w/bonus tracks, etc...) and what about a proper Best Of? The closest we got was the excellent Cinematic Overview promo in '96

The Smiths - Remasters (these must be coming soon w/the Sound of The Smiths as the teaser and the recent Morrissey solo reissues)

Modern English - Stop/Start (never on CD - Wounded Bird Records perhaps?)

And Also the Trees - Remasters w/bonus cuts

Abecedarians - back catalogue criminally out of print

For Against - Aperture, Shelf Life, Mason's California Lunch Room to go along w/the recent remasters

Sisterhood - Gift

Psychedelic Furs - Mirror Moves

Naked Eyes - back catalogue...isn't about time?

Modern Eon - Fiction Tales (never on CD)

The Passions - Michael & Miranda (never on CD)

Gang Of Four - At the Palace (never on CD)

Pale Saints - remasters (come on 4AD, why the wait?)

Snake Corps - remasters

Orange Juice - why is their back catalogue out of print?

Husker Du - remasters (again, why the wait?)

Monochrome Set - Strange Boutique & Love Zombies remasters, Fin (The Good Life) reissued

I know several of these above are on iTunes (those whose rights belong to Cherry Red & their subsidiaries), but we love physical releases...

Kraftwerk remasters are long overdue. The Man Machine CD I have is very hissy, especially on The Robots.

The Kraftwerk situation is a weird one, the whole catalogue was remastered around 2003 and released as a promo-only boxset. Nothing to do with EMI apparently, they'll be released when the band decide.

INXS - Shabooh Shoobah
INXS - The Swing
INXS - Listen Like Thieves

The reissue of Shabooh Shoobah should include the first "Dekadence" remixes and the reissue of The Swing should include the later batch of "Dekadence" remixes.

Since INXS - Shabooh Shoobah is in my all-time Top Ten Albums list, it's frustrating that this album hasn't had a proper reissue.

The first two INXS albums were beautifully compiled on the Stay Young 2-CD set with bonus tracks, while Kick, X, and Welcome To Wherever You Are were reissued nicely by Rhino with bonus tracks. It's a shame that my favorite three INXS albums haven't received similar treatment.

My first post here, by the way. Good to meet y'all.

the band were no fan of the remasters, who knows when we'll get it. too loud and compressed, or so i hear.

and i have to second the naked eyes catalog- oh sure, if you have the two greatest hits (in print? out of print? i know one of them is not) and the "everything and more" cd you have all their output but a bside and a dub or two. still, it would be great to get some matching volumes/levels on everything...

welcome aboard "saturday"- i agree about the inxs stuff- i'd want "the swing" especially. i'd love to hear a pumped up version of "johnson's aeroplane"-

I couldn't agree more with AlwaysSaturday regarding INXS.

Also, another vote for U2's Unforgettable Fire, The Smiths, and P-Furs' Mirror Moves.

Clock DVA: everything, but especially Buried Dreams, which sounds like crap on CD. Mute's supposedly been trying to reissue them for ages, but I doubt they're coming.

Alphaville: Forever Young and Afternoons In Utopia. I don't think I've ever seen the latter on CD, FY sounds like it was recorded under a blanket.

Hopefully Front 242 are going to continue reissuing their back-catalogue--Geography sounded great, but I don't know if they're planning anything else. Official Version in particular could use some rebuffing.

4AD's generally done a good job of reissuing their catalog, but they really need to do an odds-and-ends release to gather some sides that haven't appeared on CD: This Mortal Coil's "16 Days/Gathering Dust," Wolfgang Press (a lot of B-sides, the full "Kansas" 12" single and the original mixes of songs collected on Legendary Wolfgang Press), Colourbox's 12" singles and some cassette-only tracks from their eponymous album, and so on. . . come to think of it Wolfgang Press are about due for a revival, no?

i posted this in the obscurities forum, but we brought up a "mesopatamia" re-issue here, so i thought i'd put it out again.

does anyone have the uk versions of "loveland" and "cake" and "throw that beat" from the island records e.p.? they were extended/dubby, and i'd love to have some nice quality versions.

anyone?

YES, YES, YES I definitely agree with Mirror Moves and the INXS stuff, as well as the Chameleons. How about new versions of Iggy's The Idiot and Lust for Life. The originals sound awful. Hell, I would even take a new version of Blah Blah Blah.
