New Wave Outpost Forum

THE DAWN is the prime FILIPINO NEW WAVE BAND of the 80s. First introduced by WXB102 wayback in 1986 with the smashing hit "ENVELOPED IDEAS" which incidentally is the #1 NEW WAVE SONG of WXB102 TOP 100 NEW WAVE SONG COUNTDOWN. After 20 years, with changes of BAND LINE-UPs,THE DAWN is still currently rocking on the PINOY ROCK BAND BOOM in MANILA. They are still the MAIN BAND of SAN MIGUEL BEER'S OCTOBERFEST currently happening this month.[8D]

THE DAWN's 20th ANNIVERSARY CD entitled "TULAD NG DATI" in English "JUST LIKE BEFORE" is a double disc package which includes their best hits of the two decades with BONUS VIDEOS and TRACKS and the LEGENDARY GUITAR SOLO EXCERPT(VIDEO) of their LEGENDARY GUITARIST TEDDY DIAZ who was stabbed to death in 1988. DISC B also includes acoustic versions of "SALAMAT" and "ABOT KAMAY". GREAT ALBUM highly recommended especially to the classic PINOY NEW WAVERS who grew up listening to THE DAWN. It's nice to see the picture of TEDDY DIAZ on the ALBUM COVER.[;)]

DSR, there's actually footage of Teddy Diaz inside? How long is it? I've been waiting to see something like that for ages.

All songs here were redone by THE DAWN.[;)] With four new tracks.[8D] Filipina Diva BITUIN ESCALANTE sang the INTRO of ENVELOPED IDEAS this time.[8D]

HI gilson![8D] This is available in all RECORD SHOPS here in MANILA. I'm not quite sure if it's already available in the net because it's very new.[8D] All songs here were redone so it's not the the original versions with TEDDY DIAZ as guitarist but it's still done well.[;)] Great album because of the extra bonus disc.[^]

"The Ultimate OPM Collection: THE DAWN" is another CD COLLECTION of THE BEST OF THE DAWN that has the original versions of their classics which was released several years ago.
