Forced Exposure is listing these releases in their latest mailing:

99 001EP

LIQUID LIQUID: Dig We Must 12" (99 001EP) 13.00
Exact-repro Euro bootleg editions. "Early 80's Progressive Post Punk Funk. Superb 12" in original picture sleeve. Heavily sampled and a must for your collection." The 4th Liquid Liquid EP, originally issued on 99 in 1984.

99 007EP

LIQUID LIQUID: Liquid Liquid 12" (99 007EP) 13.00
Exact repro (w/ iconic b&w artwork), Euro-bootleg style. "Classic 1981 EP from the early 80's post punk funkers on the legendary 99 records. Includes the heavily sampled 'Bell Head'." This was the debut Liquid Liquid release, with 5 tracks; featuring members like: Richard McGuir (bass, percussion, guitar, melodica), Scott Hartley (drums, percussion), Salvatore Principato (vocals, percussion). Plus: Richard Edson on trumpet!

99 009EP

LIQUID LIQUID: Successive Reflexes 12" (99 009EP) 13.00
Exact repro, Euor-bootleg style. Their 2nd release, originally released in 1981. "Very experimental 12" from Liquid Liquid. Almost like an early 80's techno record. Sampled to death and a rare piece!"

I'd be a lot more excited if "Dig We Must" was finally released on CD. The other two EP's (along with Optimo) are on the Liquid Liquid compilation CD, now officially OOP but available through Universal's Disc Kiosk.

Pardon my ignorance but.. what is a "Euro bootleg"? Is it legitimate or approved by the artist?

My interpretation of the term is 1) from Europe and 2) unauthorized by those holding the rights to the music. But I am only a fan, not a music industry insider/employee.

The label listed is 99 Records UK; hence the Euro appellation.
As far as 99 records goes, that label went out of existence in 1985 as a result of the 99/Sugar Hill, Cavern/White Lines fiasco. Ed Bahlman, the founder and head honcho of 99 Records has been adamantly opposed about releasing the rights to the ?15 releases from the label. Hence the term "bootleg". I am not sure how (or even if)Grande Royale received the rights to release the Liquid Liquid recordings, nor Soul Jazz to release ESG and other act tracks (cf New York Noise vol 1,2,3).

Ah, thank you kindly! Very rare of you not to post the web address, schwenko. [:D]
