Just found out the Damned are getting their Phantasmagoria and Anything albums , along with some Captain Sensible solo albums are getting the 24 bit mini-lp CD remaster out of Japan in a few months... These usually sound pretty amazing...

I believe The Jam are also getting this treatment in May. All 6 albums !!!!

Damn, this will put fans of The Jam in quite a pickle. Should they get all 6 albums as they were originally meant to be heard, or do they pick up the Direction Reaction Creaction box that has all that plus the singles b-sides in the order which they came out? I suppose with cataloging software, one could easily rearrange DRC to be played in album form plus you get the bonus disc of rarities and demos. But then again it's always nice to own all the 'originals'. Tough call but thanks for the news.

This is great news!I have been after the first two Captain Sensible albums on CD!I hope they release "Women and Captain First" and "The Power Of Love" since I love those albums.Another favorite is "Phantasmagoria" by the Damned and I also hope it gets the remaster it deserves.I just can't wait to buy them!

Any The Damned album is very hard to find in the Philippines. I hope Phantasmagoria gets here.

I was a big fan of both bands back in university, and have really revisited their music big time in the past few years. The Damned are especially underrated by many historically. The recent reissues of the 1st album, Machine Gun Etiquette, Black Album, and Strawberries really reinforce the quality of their music. The Damned had a sense of musicianship (especially Captain and Rat), and a sense of humour, that many of their contemporaries lacked. MGE and Black Album are two of my all time faves, and they have really stood the test of time. They have had a few dodgy releases over the years - I will probably pick up Phantasmagoria, though Anything was not one of their better efforts imo...

The Jam...well they were simply ace start to finish...

gee...that sure killed the thread. Guess I needed to wax poetic about Pat Benatar and Tom Petty...

OK, I'll bite. I have the old MCA cd version of Anything simply for the awesome cover of Love's "Alone Again, Or"...and totally look forward to a remastered version of the album for that song alone.
