The long-awaited reissue of Dazzle Ships is back on schedule with a planned Spring 2008 release date.

The re-release of OMD's 1983 album will be remastered and feature sleeve notes and additional tracks. Likely candidates for the bonus tracks include Swiss Radio International and an early version of Telegraph culled from the Architecture & Morality sessions at The Manor.
The good thing about having been delayed for so long is that EMI has given up on Copy Control [:)].

Yeah that's a very good point. I have bought a few cds off the net not knowing that crap was on them. I wonder if they will remaster junk culture and crush as well like they did with the first three albums.

Mmmmmmmmm. Good question, which has been fielded by Mr. McCluskey on the Official Forum:
Virging seem happilly (if slowly) to be working through the catalogue so
I imagine that we will get to most of te albums being re-mastered extras adding.
So yes, eventually, sometime down the road. . .

I feel OMD have been very poor in rereleasing their back catolgue i know we have had the peel seessions and b sides albums which had quite a few missing of it that i can understand cause they will need them for further remasters but what about a double album of remixes original ones not like those naff ones on that french singles album released a few years ago and a dvd of all their videos. I'm looking forward to further albums being remastered especially sugar tax as the sound on that is horrible as for liberator it was pants they can forget that one.

Keep in mind, it's not always the band that holds things up when it comes to reissues. The Labels, or some other unforseen things usually make it difficult for bands to reissue things as well. Sometimes it takes a bit, just be patient.

I've been really patient but it's almost 20 years now and they won't release the best of OMD dvd. Weird Al Yankovic has already issued several versions of his best of. I definitely blame the label. By the time they release the best of, dvd's will probably have been replace by some other medium. [:)]

I know man, I know...I get frustrated with many "re-releases(or lack there of) myself. They were supposed to "re-release" all of the Smiths catalog, remastered and add bonus material, that was 2-3 years ago, and Im still waiting.

I can relate to your frustrations, some bands have no idea that the reissues of their stuff is/are being held up by labels, which is strange. Lets keep our fingers crossed that they DO release this stuff?[:)]

Ooh, now we have to wonder which 12" mix of Telegraph we're going to get [:o)].

http://www.omd.uk.com/discography/singl ... /s_20.html

There are two different extended versions of Telegraph in circulation. The major differences between the two, along with version details, is as follows:

LONG VERSION

Label states a running time of 5:53.
The number imprinted in the run-out groove states VS580-12-A1.
Song intro is similar to the 7" version.
More frequent of the two versions as issued on UK and also European releases.

SHORT VERSION
Label states a running time of 4:42.
The number imprinted in the run-out groove states VS580-12-A3.
Song intro fades in and appears to be the opening notes reversed.
Rarer version of the two for UK releases, more common on the US/Canadian releases.
