David Byrne is set to release a new album with Brian Eno, and is also working on a collaboration with Fatboy Slim, he told NME.COM at a recent event in New York.

After his appearance with Paul Simon at the Brooklyn Academy Of Music last week (April 9) the former Talking Heads front man also said “I’m finishing up a record with Brian Eno, a musician that I worked with 30 years ago. We did a record together of songs, and that’ll come out. And I’m also working on a collaboration with Fatboy Slim, also songs, I don’t know when that’ll be done but sometime.â€￾

As previously reported, Byrne performed ‘I Know What I Know’ and ‘You Can Call Me Al’ during the ‘Under African Skies’ event which was attended by a myriad of celebrities including Susan Sarandon, Cynthia Nixon, Parker Posey, Philip Glass and Steve Buscemi.

“Paul and I had met a few times and we have some musical interests in common and he asked if I would do it,â€￾ Byrne explained

“I know these songs and I just thought this is going to be…not exactly easy…but it’s not that hard. It’s in New York, I don’t have to go anywhere, I’m not on tour, I’m just working on writing and recording stuff of my own so I thought this will be fun!â€￾

They might not be touring together this Fall, but fear not: Brian Eno and David Byrne aren't the type to keep you waiting. All right, that's not entirely true; it's been 27 years since their last collaborative album. Fortunately, they're fixin' to break that dry spell with Everything That Happens Will Happen Today, a joint venture co-written by Messrs Eno and Byrne.
For the two of them, it's been a strange hopscotch over the musical landscape of the past four decades; from King Crimson to Coldplay, and from the Talking Heads to the B-52s, this duo has left their indelible mark on modern music. Paradigm shifters that they are, they'll naturally be releasing this sucker via the interwebs first, with the promise of a free downloadable preview at the album's website on Aug. 4, followed by the album's tangible release on Aug. 18. A deluxe CD package will hit brick-and-mortar stores shortly afterwards, which will include a free download of the album. Peep the tracklist, and don't be afraid to put that Windows 95 startup music on a loop if you're feeling nostalgic:

1. Home
2. My Big Nurse
3. I Feel My Stuff
4. Everything That Happens
5. Life Is Long
6. The River
7. Strange Overtones
8. Wanted For Life
9. One Fine Day
10. Poor Boy
11. The Lighthouse
