Any word yet on when those U2 Re Releases are supposed to be out? Also, been hearing for years about the Smiths stuff being re-released, yet haven't seen anything about them, in about the same amoun of time. Anyone know if these will see the light of day?

The Smiths catalog was re-reissued in Japanese mini-lp cds a year or two ago. I picked them up, but as expected, I don't think they are remastered.

I believe the U2 remasters (all 2-disc sets) have moved to July. Amazon is also listing a special edition for Under A Blood Red Sky.

There's supposed to be 2 disc sets released/remastered of all the Smiths albums. The second discs are all supposed to be chock full of: rare and OOP outtakes, mixes, live versions, etc.

Also, just saw something in RS earlier today that the U2 stuff was personally remastered, and so forth, with help from The Edge(so you know they'll be good), as he supposedly didn't want them to be trash, there's even supposed to be some "never before released" photos of the band.

When the last Smiths best of was remastered, Morrisey hated the remastering sound. Though he probably will have to be involved or have this happen without him on the catalog, its a long time coming. To quote Sparks' new track "Lighten up, Morrisey."
