Sad Lovers & Giants & Snake Corps

Sad Lovers & Giants & Snake Corps

Many thanks to Cherry Red/Anagram for finally (!!) reissuing the following:

Sad Lovers and Giants - Epic Garden Music (new liner notes, images)
First time available on CD since 1988

Snake Corps - Spice The Very Best of (new liner notes, images)
First released on CD in 1996 and out print for several years

Neither of them are remastered but it looks like both bands long out of print back catalogues will be reissued in the coming months (but I hope it doesn't have an impact on the resale value of the original Midnight Music releases, of which I have tracked down over the years)

Both bands have built a significant following over the years via word of mouth, music blogs, etc though had virtually no success in their native UK throughout their respective careers. Both however were extremely popular on the European mainland (Spain, Italy, Netherlands, France, Belgium, Greece). Epic Garden Music did reach the top-30 Indie Charts on release in 1982. Snake Corps never charted. Tony McGuinness of SLAG is now part of Above & Beyond for those UK dance/club fans out there.

Thoughts about these criminally underrated indie/post-punk bands?
