I like it too; thanks for pointing it out. I actually liked some of the stuff in the last 20 years, but it's been inconsistent!

Schwenko, have you listened to the Black & White 050505 album? It's far from their best album, but it's one of their more impressive releases in recent years. There are some shining moments, namely "Stay Visible", which is one of their most energetic songs in years (sort of a mix of Good News.. meets Sparkle). The single, "Home" is similar to "Rockets" in arrangement, and "Dolphins" is a slow, dark (but strong) album-ender, complete with a classic-sounding Burchill guitar line. I think Bob Clearmountain's production helped bring their 'big' sound back into their recordings (he could teach some engineers a few things about mixing drums). I was starting to lose faith when Cry came out (weak album, but great tour), but Black & White was somewhat a return to that 'bombastic' SM sound, which I like.

Agree 100%. It's not better than New Gold Dream and pre era, but it's got a lot of Sparkle in the Rain in it. This sound similar to Black & White.

Another recommendation for Black & White. Some of their best writing in years. They really captured a cool mood with that one.

I agree as well. Perhaps I am biased since they are my favorite band of all time, but I freely admit that their covers record from the earlier part of the decade was quite weak, and "Cry" only has a few solid tracks (the title cut being one of them; I love it).
Apparently there is a deluxe edition of the new album that comes with a bonus disc of covers...
