This collection of nine polished electro-funk cuts features stellar guest musicians such as Bernie Worrell (Parliament/Funkadelic), Anton Fier (Feelies/Golden Palominos), and Tom Bailey (Thompson Twins). The five bonus tracks are taken from the 1984 mini album New York Remix, mixed by Bruce Forest. The CD runs for 70 minutes, and features a full artist biography as well as the original Benoit Hennebert artwork. For sale in Benelux only.

Severed Heads | Rotund For Success

First in LTM's CD reissue programme by Severed Heads, the eclectic Australian electro pioneers who recorded some ten studio albums over two decades since 1982. Rotund For Success was originally released via the Nettwerk and Volition labels in 1989, and saw Severed Heads flirt outrageously with mainstream success. Although all material was written by chief Head Tom Ellard, it were Robert Racic's seamless mixes of slinky dance tracks Greater Reward and All Saint's Day which set the album apart. Elsewhere, the most obviously 'Severed' of all the tracks are Rotund For Success, First Steps, 7 Miles and Midget Sings.
The new CD contains 17 tracks and has been digitally remastered by Tom Ellard. The booklet contains a detailed band biography by Bernie Maier, as well as notes by Ellard.

So Young But So Cold "Underground French Music 1977-1983"(Tigersushi) France
http://www.amazon.fr/exec/obidos/ASIN/B ... 99-7244916

Considering the term new wave was first associated with the French film movement, it's ironic that France's contribution to early-'80s electronic music was hidden under the shadow of German and UK artists. Marc Collin and Ivan Smagghe, a/k/a Volga Select, are setting the record straight selecting the tracks for Tigersushi's new compilation. Perfectly titled, So Young But So Cold borrows its name from a track by electro-goths KaS Product, and explores a fertile yet mostly unheard six-year period of French underground music.

Thanks for this information, Gazebo. This is an awesome list of re-issues. Man, it seems that the recording labels are starting to dig through the vaults and re-issuing some great 80s stuff. I hope this trend continues...
