Youthquake and Mad Bad & Dangerous were re-issued in Japan last year or so in remastered editions. Does anyone own them? how's the sound ?

the remastered versions were canceled prior to release. I think straight reissues did eventually come out last year in Japan.
cheers!

So then Sophisticated Boom Boom is the only remastered one. Wasn't there a Japanese 12" collection floating around some years ago ?

that AMAZING 2-disc 12" collection was canceled. It was a brilliant track listing too.

I believe 2CD re-issues of the Dead Or Alive albums are 'coming soon'... it's a sort've unofficial source, but wheels are in motion and I can't wait!!!

I hope that it's not Cherry Red. I didn't really care for the Sophisticated Boom Boom release they did a few years back.

The only Dead Or Alive album I really care for is Sophisticated Boom Boom which I think is brilliant. I was very glad about the Cherry Red release soundwise and it also has the original UK tracklisting which I prefer.

And although I'm thankful for the seven bonus tracks included, I had hoped for even more extra tracks. I miss some Megamixes and some Extended Versions (e.g. the rarer second Extended Dance Remix of "What I Want") and also Give It To Me, which was excluded due to BBC rights.

There would have been enough material for a second disc of 12" mixes. But commercially this probably wasn't viable due to likely sales so it ended up as a single disc release. But I'm lucky enough to have vinyl transfers of my records for those missing tracks. [:D]

I have a lot of 12" vinyl to mp3 transfers of DOA. Waiting patiently over the years for the Youthquake and Mad Bad & Dangerous enhanced versions.

now why is that? the cd was packaged great, had wonderful liner notes, was pretty exhaustive in getting appropriate bonus tracks, and sounded great- perhaps not MASTER TAPE great, but as compared to....say.... the thompson twins reissues of a few years ago, really nice sound. what exactly would you change? if they had sent a representative to my door to hand deliver my cd AND surprised me with a nice blow job, well, okay. that would be perfect. i don't have the swanky standards you do, i guess.

I like Sophisticated Boom Boom as an album, and congrats to Cherry Red for the artwork, remixes etc. However I always felt that it wasn't one of their better cds. A fine example of their recent reissues was King's Bittersweet,Kim Wilde's first 3 albums or Fashion's Twilight Of Idols.

Considering I'm the one who did the track selection and remastering for both the King-Bitter Sweet and the DOA-SBB, I can say that I still have no regrets with any of the decisions I made.

Aw, you remembered. Thanks girly! I hope you are doing well. It's been far too many years. Now that we're both getting on in years :-), we should really be talking again. Let me know your thoughts.

Hi Scott, also the best birthday wishes from my side.

If I'm not wrong then we know each other because I am - as you described it in your review of the cd "Best of Mobiles" - the "generous fan from Germany, who allowed you access to the rare white-label test pressing of the Mobiles single Build me up Buttercup". I'm still very glad that you included this single on this cd - mainly because of its fantastic B-side "Don't Pay The Axeman". But to be honest, I was also very happy when my beloved 7" single returned safely to me from its trip across the ocean.

Sorry for being off-topic!

Is it ok if I call during the weekend? Do you have the same number? Any big birthday plans?
