Just spotted pre-orders on Amazon the reissue of the long out-of-print classic, The Lotus Easters "No Sense of Sin"

Previously available on Vinyl Japan, this one is mega-rare and hard to find and it's about time it gets it's proper reissue. Lovingly reissued on Cherry Red in March:

Highly recommended album for those who dig the sound of "First Picture Of You". I found the Vinyl Japan version a few years ago, and it hasn't strayed far from my cd player since.

Do we know if this will be the exact same track listing as the Vinyl Japan release which i have.[?] I would like to have the extended versions of The First Picture and It Hurts included also there were at least 3 tracks missing from the original album because they couldn't find the masters or they were damaged or something i hope they rectify that. Though the thought it of it been released on Cherry Red makes me feel [xx(]

Let's not assume Cherry Red will use some inferior sound source, just becaus it has happened in the past. We can always ask them. By the way, there is no mention of this CD on their site yet. /JW

Cherry Red doesn't forecast its new releases beyond the current month, which is quite frustrating. You have to check alternate sources such as Amazon's forthcoming releases and mags such as Record Collector to get an idea of what's forthcoming.

I have a copy of No Sense of Sin that is widely promoted on Ebay which seems to be legit (or not) that is the Vinyl Japan version plus five bonus tracks...

I have noticed that version you speak of on a few occasions and it's a bootleg that's why i never bought it. Just out of curiosity what's the sound quality like on it[?]

I have the 24-track 1998 CD "THE LAST PICTURE (No Sense of Sin, 12" "versions + B-sides)" (see my discography at http://www.discog.info/lotus-eaters.html) and the sound is very good. /JW

Agreed...this version does have one of my faves, Start Of The Search, on it. I also didn't realise it was 89 minutes...how did they do that?

I assume the Cherry Red reissue will be the Vinyl Japan version with maybe one or two extra tracks...

Here's hoping we will get a reissue of the First Picture Of You compilation as well. This is a fantastic primer to the band but is extremely hard to find (but there are two copies for sale here):

It's got both Peel Sessions and a few live BBC tracks. Great release by the long missed Vinyl Japan label.

By the way, an MP3 site sells unknown extended versions of three tracks: German girl (extended mix) / Can you keep a secret (remix extended) / You fill me with need (remix). I don't know if these have ever been issued on vinyl in the 80s (I have no proof) or if they were "created" recently. /JW

I have that CD. I bought it before the Japanese No Sense Of Sin CD came out. The only reason I keep it is because it has the John Peel recording of When You Look at Boys one of the three tracks missing from the NSOS CD.

It will be interesting to see if the new CD includes the missing tracks. Would be nice to get the 12" version of You Don't Need Someone New too. One of the few times I've thought the 12" was better than the 7".
