Heads up that Cherry Red is reissuing the classic Colourfield albums, Virgins & Philistines and Deception in March:
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Deception-Colou ... 43&sr=1-64
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Virgins-Philist ... _h__text_b
No word on the track listings as of yet but knowing Cherry Red, we should expect to see a flurry of bonus tracks.
Virgins and Philistines, along with the previously mentioned Lotus Eaters' No Sense Of Sin, are two of the most requested reissues and it's nice to see Cherry Red giving the people what they want. Good year so far for the label...I know I am personally looking forward to the reissue of one of my all-time faves, Sad Lovers & Giants' The Mirror Test later this month.
Cheers!

Wonder if mediocrity (and I'm being VERY kind here) will ever cease to be something that is celebrated?

I'm wondering if I should wait until the music on the CDs is replaced with music by an artist capable of making music worth listening to?

I'm not too leery about the quality on these two, as both albums had been previously issued on CD before, as were most of the bonus tracks. It looks like the only things that got omitted between the previous Japan issues and these are "Thinking of You (Singalong Version)" and "Castles In The Air (Extended Version)", plus we're getting more b-sides from the "Deception" releases. Also, didn't Superfecta have the rights to "Virgins & Philistines" a while back, all ready to go? Did Cherry Red make a bid on it? Just curious.

I agree about the possible good sound quality. I have all of the originals on cd and will probably pick these up as well.
