Yet Another Cherry Red Blunder

Yet Another Cherry Red Blunder

Seems Cherry Red just go from bad to worse. This time regarding those two Colour field reissues. Someone has posted a review on amazon stating that both are sourced from vinyl and that one of the songs has had 20 seconds chopped of it. I'm very glad now i never bought these and i hoping people keep writing these reviews on amazon to tell people how bad these releases really are. If you read the other review there it's from somebody who worked on the project and he was asked if they were vinyl rips and his reply was Absolutely no vinyl was used in the making of these CDs. It was, however, the inspiration!

Didn't they release "The Mood's" cd as well? I dont recall(if they did) something being wrong with that? but then again, I didnt give it a huge listen the first go round. I just listened to make sure all the tracks were on there, and to hear the cd, and what they sounded like.

I noticed that flaw on the AFOS "Story of a young heart", and am pissed. I tried explaining to the record store that it was a foul up...but because it was opened, they said "tough shit". Good cd, excpt for the flaw. Cherry Red's starting to piss me off(and cost me $$$) when they do this stuff. Kinda pointless to release stuff if you're just goping to F*&^ it up from the getgo, won't you agree folks?

It'd be nice for all of us to get corrected versions of the stuff they've messed up, but thats a pipe dream Im sure.

They did release The Mood, but Rubellan did the mastering on that one, so it's good, and worth picking up. But I refuse to buy any more CR CDs until I read reviews from others.

if this is true, it kind of bites. I'm not a fan of their albums (listened to sound samples and found them incredibly boring and not even vaguely new wave), but they do have a couple of songs on each album that I've always wanted to add to my collection.

What I really liked and should be re-issued is the album by Vegas (Terry Hall & Dave Stewart).

They did something like on Stephen Duffy Ups and Downs.. the outro of a song became the beginning of the next track. So when you listen to it alone, it cuts off and weirdly becomes the intro to the other song since it segues into it. They don't know or care about what they are doing. The only thing that was worth buying it was the unreleased tracks and Stephen Duffy's liner notes because the sound is god awful from vinyl.

What's up with the "Story" reissue? I haven't compared the 2, but
is there a major difference in the sound quality of the CR issue and the Beehive(at least they got it right!)issue? Then again, my only cd listening time is in the car.

This is sad. I was hoping for a score (HAHAHA!!) with these, as the
two domestics sound great, as does the Japanese.

Please pick better subjects when starting new topics. If you are going to talk about the quality of a particular release, you should at least use that as your subject.

There is some follow-up to the quality of the Colourfield releases if you look at the comments for the 1-star review on amazon.co.uk

What are you so dim that you can't read the message associated to the topic or is that too much trouble for you ?. And what's all this crap about picking better subjects ?. I was helping people out making them aware of another blunder by that shit record label and if you can't navigate to amazon without a link going by what i said in my original post then that's your problem.
