In May, Cherry Pop is reissuing the first two Cutting Crew cd's with bonus tracks and digitally remastered. The project is in collaboration with lead singer Nick van Eede.

I've always considered the US version of Broadcast a great disc top to bottom, despite the heavy AOR leanings...and I know, they aren't New Wave, but they did enjoy great MTV success...

Not really interested and especially if Cherry Red is involved. If you're gonna buy it wait for reviews and then decide.

"The two live bonus tracks on this collection are sourced from this period, namely a stunning version of the album s title track fused with Any Colour, and the aforementioned I ve Been In Love Before. Other bonus tracks come in the form of the extended 12 mix of (I Just) Died In Your Arms and the very rare B-Side to the original release of that single, For The Longest Time, which has never been issued on CD until now. This collection also contains three tracks
in their superior US mixes, which have, until now, only been available in the States."

Interesting. I have the CA vinyl and the UK CD, and I think both are the same version.

Regarding this remastered CD, though, this doesn't sound too good:

According to here http://www.discogs.com/Cutting-Crew-Bro ... se/1438150 which i never knew and i love this album to bits it's claiming that that the US CD has 3 alternate mixes from the UK version.Which ones are alternate it doesn't say. I just wonder if they will screw up with the proper (I Just) Died In Your Arms remix like they did with that compilation of theirs back in the 90's and put a short version on instead which i think has been on a few compilations since then as well. No mention of the 12 inch mixes of I've Been In Love Before,One For The Mockingbird or Any Colour being included on this. This was always quite a good sounding CD so if Cherry Red fuck this up they can go to hell. Just out of curiosity which tracks are different on the US release and do they differ much from the UK version? According to Wiki 4 tracks differ from the American release to the British one http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Broadcast_ ... w_album%29

I really, really love this album, but unless I read positive reviews (plural!!!) from credible sources (again, plural), I'm not touching any Cherry Red reissue.

I have a promo CD single with the edit of "I've Been In Love Before" that is pretty rare...

Update: just looked at the Amazon page for Broadcast - what the f is up with that artwork? Is that the original UK artwork? Not that the US art is great, but that UK one is terrible.

I'll probably stick with my original US CD...I love the running order and is one of those discs that is best listened to in its original version...there really isn't a bad track on here and I consider it from top to bottom a perfect listen.
Did anyone get into the 2nd album? I know I moved on after Broadcast...

I liked "Everything But My Pride" but don't really remember much else from the album. Except that when the band turned the record in, the label told them that they heard a 2nd single and a 3rd single, but not a first single, so they went back and recorded "Between A Rock And A Hard Place." Apparently they were so mad that the drummer's fingers bled during recording.

I was really hoping they would put the extended version of "I've Been In Love Before" on Broadcast.

I see these are for sale now.Has anybody got both the UK and the American versions of Broadcast to compare as it says three of the tracks on the American version are different mixes to the UK version.[?]

For the American version, 4 tracks were remixed ("Any Colour", "One for the Mockingbird", "I've Been in Love Before" and "(I Just) Died In Your Arms"), all of which were the singles from the album. The current American CD in print is the European version but still with the American packaging.

All the 12 inches mixes from Broadcast should have been on this especially Any Colour and I've Been In Love Before which are only available on vinyl.

Anyone pick these up yet? Just saw them sitting in Amoeba Hollywood today; haven't had time to check Amazon yet for reviews. Still can't trust any Cherry Red product anymore.

I have The Scattering. After much thought i decided to buy Cherry Pop's version, which to my surprise wasn't bad. The only track from Broadcast i liked was I've Been In Love Before so i didn't bother with it. If you have a greatest hits ,that'll do.
