Ministry "Early Trax"--first time I ever noticed

So i burned "Halloween" from my "Twelve Inch Singles" CD to my ipod, and noticed something I never had before when listening back to it today. I don't know if my CD is defective or if they were all originally pressed like this, but the first bass note of the song is missing--and possibly an entire bar or two of bass, because when I popped in my "Early Trax" CD to compare, I found that not only is the first note present, but the track actually runs 10 seconds longer (6:36 instead of 6:26). I also noticed on the "Twelve Inch Singles" pressing that at about the 1 minute mark, soon after the vocals begin, the left channel suddenly gets much louder. This anomaly is not present on the "Early Trax" version. However, what I also notice is that when the song begins, because it's JUST the bassline, there is MAJOR tape hiss on the Early Trax version that is NOT on the Twelve Inch Singles version! What a mess. I think I barely ever listened to the song on CD when it was popular because I heard it so much in the clubs, so it's only now that I'm stumbling upon this issue. I also checked the Rhino Just Can't Get Enough Halloween CD, and that has the same version as "Twelve Inch Singles" as does the compilation "Classic Alternatives 4". Has anyone else ever noticed these issues? Despite the tape hiss, I opted to put the Early Trax version on my ipod because I now feel like all the other pressings are defective masters of the original song!

Yep, mine is missing the first note to "Everyday (Is Halloween)", and also has the weirdness in the left channel (the highend gets louder on the left channel shortly after the vocals start).

I have the Wax Trax! pressing (before they were swallowed up by TVT).

I'd noticed the left channel bit in the Wax Trax version, but I always thought it worked in the song.

I don't know if this is related or not, but didn't the first pressing of Early Trax get recalled because of some audio problem?

I've noticed it as well, having both the cd's.
Shame that "Cold Life" was left off "Early Trax".

And "Same Old Madness" is on neither one. Boo. Although "Overkill" was good to hear.
