1983 Atlantic album (actually the Duke label, which was a boutique label for Genesis) being issued by Wounded Bird on August 10.

That's odd, considering their entire album is on this CD:

good news indeed, regardless that it is on another CD for Random Hold. To get it as it's own release with artwork WILL matter for some of us, even if we too know about and have the Random Hold found to be so odd to already exist. Not everyone finds it odd that another label is releasing it. Also assume the label holding original rights nor Wounded Bird found it odd. Or maybe they found it odd and hoped no one one would notice except for those elite few in the know. Odd indeed. It's not too late, maybe they'll yank it and hope worldwide everyone will discover that it's really available on the Random Hold Differing Views CD since that CD was so well advertised in the market for containing NWTW. Not sure how the masses missed it with the saturation campaign that occurred. Even CNN and the weather channel broke in every fifteen minutes to promote it, but mostly it was when Wolf Blitzer covered it from the situation room. Heck, wounded bird oughta hold back on Scott Wilk & The Walls and other 80s in their upcoming pipeline until their certain to scour the planet in case these tracks were marketd heavily on another import CD secondary to the main artist listed on the disc release itself. This marketing strategy was so visible that everyone should have just known NWTW was on the Random Hold release.

Well, thankfully, Wounded Bird will give the release all the major press and publicity you described so everyone will know it has been released by them and it will soar to number one on the billboard album charts. Personally, I'd prefer that those who DON'T know the CD is already available because they don't pay attention to this board, where it has been mentioned before (just like they won't know the official 9 Ways to Win CD is being released if they don't pay attention), just suffer the consequences and that Wounded Bird would, you know, get the rights to and release something I desperately want on CD that is not ALREADY on CD.

Look at it like this........you're buying Kim Wilde Teases and Dares to get the extra tracks, some will but the NWTW to get it as it's own CD with the artwork. For some reason, the release of NWTW is really getting to you. Many of us want the Random Hold AND NWTW as a separate release. Let us have it without your commentary, I suspect its release won't have any life altering impact on you. Seems like it might though. Also consider this......many people might not care one iota about Random Hold and really just want the NWTW, so in fairness to them let it go. They should not have to buy a double CD, import at that, in order to get NWTW just so you'll sleep better tonight.

Actually I'm looking forward to getting the original artwork too. I've always thought that cover was kind cool with the two band members on there, very 80's. Hopefully they put some bonus tracks on there, i.e. "Close To You" extended version.

It's just the straight album; no bonus tracks. As I described in another thread, Atlantic albums are controlled by Rhino; when a label like Wounded Bird reissues albums through Rhino, Rhino will charge a premium for adding bonus tracks, thus making it a "compilation." Therefore, most of WB's Rhino-licensed reissues are just the regular album, or a 2-fer. The Mighty Lemon Drops and Figures On A Beach are exceptions, but perhaps they worked out deals with the bands or something. Not sure. WB's Sony-licensed reissues, however, are ripe with bonus tracks because Sony does not have the same restrictions.

I remember the Nine Ways To Win album being in stores in the '80s, but I had never heard it, and was totally unaware of Random Hold until this reissue was posted on Amazon and I started doing research on who NWTW were.

Got the cd and it's worth it for the original album cover. I really don't like the Random Hold cover at all.

I finally picked this up; found a cheap copy at Amoeba. It's a very good '80s synth pop album! Recommended listening. As I said upthread, I remember it being in record stores back in the day; wish I would have taken a chance on it then, as I now know it would have been a favorite of the era.

Yes, I know, I missed the thread from earlier in 2010 talking about the Random Hold reissue with this album on it. It was...random, I guess.

note that the Random Hold collection includes the 12" mix of Painting Over Cracks, which is not on this collection. Not to mention, you get a whole lot of great new wave by Random Hold. But based on amazon, it looks as if the CD is out of print, so anyone interested should pick it up soon from the marketplace before the prices start to go up.
