Dead Or Alive - Thats The Way I Like It - Best Of

Dead Or Alive - Thats The Way I Like It - Best Of

Postby anfunny2003 » Thu Sep 16, 2010 4:52 am

Dead Or Alive's singles, in their original 7" mixes, are finally gathered together on a new compilation, 'That's The Way I Like It - The Best Of Dead Or Alive', released on Sony in the UK on October 4th. It's only £3.99 on HMV - pre-order link below! So, so pleased.

As well as all the correct A-sides, there will also be some bonus 12" mixes making their CD debut on this, as well as a few unreleased pics in the inlay. It's a budget release so it's not very deluxe (basic booklet) but this is the first steps to the 4 Epic albums getting the 2CD treatment. Strong sales of this will help! And it's really cheap! Tracklisting to follow...

I always love 7" versions as they are short and get right to the point. This cd should be amazing. Hopefully, they will have a cool picture of the band on it.

when it comes to Dead or Alive, the 12" versions are what make the records. I can't wait to see what the 12" inclusions are.

Epic/Sony should've done this a long time ago. DOA were massive in Japan. Atleast there should've been Japanese re-issues/remasters etc. Only time will tell !

that's great news! comprehensive 12" single and video collections (R0/R1 ntsc) are long overdue! (wounded bird: hint! hint! hint! after that absolutely amazing until december release!)

I still can't believe Sony Japan canceled that 2-disc set of essentially all their 12" versions a couple of years ago. I couldn't believe the perfection of the track list for that compilation.

I've been hoping Sony would change their minds about not releasing that 2-disc set. I was ready to order that thing.

Well with this new best of there's hope that if not Sony, then atleast someone else may re-issue DOA stuff.

the mortevicar mix of Something in my House is a dream come true, and I'm wondering why the American Wipe Out Mix of My Heart Goes Bang has a longer running time than the actual 12", which clocked in at 6:42. I really hope it is the mix just faded later, and not an alternate remix mislabeled. And I know it's an obligation to include the 12" version of their biggest hit, but I much would have preferred the 12" of In Too Deep at last.

Well, the 'US WIPE OUT Mix' on the 'Evolution' compilation was the wrong mix, this corrects that error, I am told. Likewise, the 'Murder Mix' of THAT hit has never been released digitally. All previous CD releases either have the 'Performance Mix' mis-labelled OR have the right mix but from a vinyl source (even 'SAW Gold'). The 'Extended Remix' of 'Lover Come Back To Me' could have been sacrified however, as it's been on a 'Retro:Active' volume already... fingers crossed this sells well enough (at £3.99 it's the price of a CD single in this country - ie. the UK). If it does, it'll be full steam ahead for the 4 Epic 2CD deluxe editions... and hopefully the 'Naughty XXX Mix' of 'Something In My Hosue' will be dusted down! "Stick your c*** up her a**!!!"....

sure do hope it's full steam ahead, but didn't we hear the same thing about the alison moyet 2CD deluxe editions last fall when they were announced for "early 2010"? well, it's mid-september already and there hasn't been a peep since. hope they haven't fallen through the cracks.
