Amazon UK has a release date of 12/13/2010 now. I ordered my copy from Cherry Red directly. I haven't received a shipping confirmation yet, but they are normally really good. I'd say we'll have it before Christmas (fingers crossed!)

Check out the ad for Blast on their website. The promo clips look to be pretty entertaining.

I'm still waiting on this to be delivered but i have read elsewhere somebody saying the second disc is fucked up and is full of vinyl rips and one in particular is totally distorted throughout the whole track.Mines will be going straight back when i get it and i encourage people to do the same because Cherry Red are getting away with releasing shit like this too often.

I'm gonna hold off now and wait. So far no ones posted anything on Amazon, but if there's gonna be vinyl rips especially when all the singles from that album were out on cd then screw it.

i received shipping confirmation on 12/7/10. I haven't had it show up yet. You've got me curious now as to whether or not this is going to be a disastrous release.

Why would anyone use vinyl rips unless the master tapes were nowhere to be found? If so, perhaps there is a note of explanation inside the liner notes.

I remember when Duran Duran's The Chauffeur (Sing Blue Silver) was put out on CD, they used a vinyl recording because the master couldn't be located, then later on, this was corrected for the subsequent singles box sets.

Fin, please let us know. I am not surprised by this.. thought maybe Cherry Red got the message but looks like they haven't.

I know for a fact that Justin's mix was NOT sourced from vinyl

Seems somebody else who has it disagrees with that. (but it's the fact, that Cherry Red once again had to use vinyl rips. For example the Justin Strauss Mix of "Americanos" is directly remastered from [obviously vintage] vinyl, without the slightest sign of being cleaned or decklicked.) Mines hasn't arrived yet so i cannot comment but what i'm reading it sounds like yet another turkey from Cherry Red.

If that is indeed the case that is not good. I know Justin provided a master for this himself so a vinyl was not needed at all.

Alex,

Has Justin ever tried to compile his mixes and put them out. That would be amazing if he did. A dream come true.
