For you vinyl nerds...

<a href="http://www.slicingupeyeballs.com/2010/11/02/joy-division-plus-minus-vinyl-box-set-7-inch/">Joy Division ‘+-’ limited-edition box set to collect 10 remastered 7-inch singles</a>

"The box sets are limited to 5,000 copies, and are individually numbered. Furthermore, the first 500 are being sold as “super deluxe” versions, each featuring a limited edition Saville “art piece” and two CDs containing all of the tracks featured on the 7-inches."

If they're not doing a proper release of this on CD, it's another sign of record label stupidity. People who would have otherwise bought the CD will just pirate it instead because the CD by itself isn't available for purchase.

Thanks Rhino

Ordered the deluxe edition, they took payment at time of ordering and they've sent me the shitty bog-standard version, and say the limited edition is sold old.

Why are these so people so sodding incompetent?

Well I'm not the only one, most people reporting back on the New Order Online forum who ordered the deluxe got the standard.

I took Andee1970's advice a couple weeks ago and am glad I did (thanks Andee!). The pricks at Rhino US of course wouldn't tell me squat if they have any plans to issue this on CD in the future (I bet they will though). Until/ unless they do, like Andee suggested, I'd suggest you save yourself $150 or whatever the ripoff price is and grab the free downloads. I like cool packaging too, but they want way too much money imho.

Today I bought mine in my local record shop. It looks stunning. The special Peter Saville artpiece.... I haven't made my mind on that.
According to the shop, only the special edtion with cd are available now. The ones without cd will be available next week

OK, I take back any negative comments I made before this showed up at my door today. They had my address wrong and I didn't think it was going to make it to my mailbox in the first place. From a design standpoint, it looks #$@*ing amazing. This was a labor of love from the designers at the record company, 45's sound fantastic, and it comes with high quality mp3 downloads which sound magnificent! This Pennine version of Love Will Tear Us Apart is the best mastered version I've heard to date! Seems like the QC was in high effect for this one, unlike the previous NO remasters. Tis a shame they couldn't have put the CD in the regular box set too!

Wasn't that impressed with this. The copy I got had a serious manufacturing fault with one of the singles, so I had to take it back and the shop had no further copies left. Decided just to get my cash back in the end. The packaging seems rather haphazard really. The quality of the repro on the front covers of the singles is not that great on some of them (acknowledged, the original master art has probably long since disappeared, but the publishers of recent tomes on Peter Saville and also the illustrated Factory book seem to have been able to reproduce sleeves in decent quality, so...), the back covers don't make any attempt to have any artwork at all. Label designs are similarly unimaginative. I don't believe they complement the aesthetics of the original releases at all. Bit disappointing all in all, had high hopes for this.
