After 10 years of completely silence on the RY-front, Tracy Howe and Bill Vorn released a new cd. It is a remix-ep of the famous "Dancing on the Berlin Wall" from their debut-LP "Cold War Night Life". You can read about it and further projects on their re-vitalised website

I bought the cd right from YUL records

for litlle money and the cd arrived within short time in germany.
As I write this, the next release - the "City Of Night" - EP is available for order as well.
I will place my order asap.

One of my all time favorite bands. The band members are extremely cool guys.

Matthias, thanks for the info.

I wish they'd reissue Cold war night life again. I lost the CD that reissue in the late 90's. [:(]

I believe the cd is available from online-stores or at eBay.
They will publish an 180g-vinyl version of it in the near future and maybe a cd-release will be on the agenda as well.
I talked to Tracy Howe (via email) a couple of days ago about 2 or 3 things. He told me that all masters for the extended versions are lost and they were (and will be) mastered from vinyl. This is a pity because the original vinyl of the Danse Mix of "City of Night" had heavy distortion throughout the track and chances are bad that we ever get a clean transfer because of the lost master. I don't know if a foreign pressing (if there was ever one, at least discogs lists a spanish release on RCA) didn't have this distortion or not. Maybe one of the forum - members has a "NOT-canadian" version of this particular 12" and could check this. If you want to hear the distorted version you can find it on all releases :-( (the 5cd-boxset, "All our Saturdays"-Compilation, the 25th anniversary-sampler from mp3.com and maybe as the bonus track on the latest "City of Night 2011 EP"). The Danse mix is available as mp3-download but I had no reason to try out this way, because I have it 3 times on cd).

I asked Tracy about a future release of "Heredity" which is not available in digital format but it seems that this topic wasn't on their agenda at all :-(
Hopefully I gave him a little hint ;-)

This will probably be the "1st" 180g-vinyl that I spend my money on.

In case someone wants to hear a cover of Cite Phosphore (City of Night), by a Quebecois kids group, Standing Waltz. I actually heard this version first, and prefer it over the original. The original sounds kind of whimpy.

I wouldn't call them a "kids" group, they are teenagers, but anyway I think Tracy & Co see them as a tribute, it's not often that teenagers nowdays do a cover of a 30 year old synth pop song.

I wish bloody EMI or some other label would reissue their whole catalouge with lots of bonus audio and visual material. Especially the first album which is a topnotch work all the way. Fantastic band!
