awesome. If only Retro Active released new volumes this consistently, considering they are more apt to put more rare tracks on CD for the first time. Can't wait to see the track list for this one though.

Crossing my fingers for Secession's "Touch Part 3" or "Sneakyville" (Extended).

we should be praying for a 2-disc set of every fricking Secession track and 12" version. It's really long overdue...

Heheh, totally agree with you Budaniel.

The graet thing about the Retro Active cds is their quality and rare tracks.

The so 80s tracklisting should be interesting.

Another ear bleeder no doubt[xx(]

If they did a good re-mastering job - there would be pretty good cds.

Great tracklisting.

Glad to see Abc's When Smokey Sings (Detroit Mix) on there.

Highlights for me:

06 Jerusalem (The Palace Version) - Alphaville 06:10 (Hope this is a sign that they are putting a 12" and b-sides collection together for Alphaville)

10 When Love Is The Missing Word (Extended Version) - Cretu & Thiers 05:28 (First time this has appeared on cd, even the cd single didn't have the extended version)

02 The Great Commandment (Extended Dance Mix)- Camouflage 05:58 (Although I have this on the cd single, curious to see how this version sounds)

03 Still Smiling (Extended Version) - I Start Counting 07:49 (This should be good)

08 Hanging On A Heart Attack (Dance Mix) - Device 07:30 (Rare track)

10 No Promises (Dance Mix) - Icehouse 08:48 (Also hope this means they are putting out an Icehouse 12" collection)

This looks a lot better than the last one. Let's hope it's properly mastered if it is might consider buying it.

Where all the previous volumes of this series badly re-mastered?

They have been mastered way too loud which seems to be the norm now.

Indeed. There's a difference between "loud" and "way too loud". Unfortunately, these 'So80s' discs are "way too loud". They are probably the loudest sounding discs in my 3,000+ CD collection. Often, many tracks are so loud that they suffer from distortion and sounding unnatural. It's one thing to be loud when it still sounds natural and true to the original recording. However, these sound like they have been mastered with "radio compression" mastering, making them sound too warm.
