Very pointless indeed in the same vein as those recent remasters which weren't properly remastered at all they just had the sound bumped up a bit. The only DVD anybody needs of theirs is this http://www.amazon.co.uk/INXS-Only-Looki ... =1-1-spell Though in saying that i'm still baffled as to why the video for Heaven Sent isn't on it.

Not even a tacky badge added? How lame... really sad to see what is happening to the backcatalogue of such a band. Everyone who wants an INXS Greatest Hits has probably bought one already.
Shame no-one releases pro-shot stuff from their earlier days on dvd instead...

Note some of the repeated tracks. I'll assume that these are either remixes or re-recordings. Also, what is with the emphasis on the 'Kick' album? I realize that it is their biggest seller, but c'mon! I count 9 tracks from that album featured here. They might as well just package the 'Kick' album with a seperate hits disc. It's missing too much earlier material. Hey, even another track from 'Elegantly Wasted' would have been nice.

If you mean "remastered from the original master tapes", then yes, these might not have been properly remastered. Otherwise, the sound has been bumped up significantly, since they are much louder and compressed dynamically.

As for that DVD, it's excellent. It's a shame that it's missing a few videos, however, including "Burn For You". It's even moreso a shame because it is probably the only nearly complete INXS DVD release that we will ever see. Why the record label couldn't make it a complete video collection I will never know. They were almost there, too.

I totally agree with you!

My biggest wish is a DVD with their gig in Aspen. On Youtube you can find most of the songs. Especially their live version of "Searching" is so overwhelming. Just for this one song I'd buy such a DVD.

Oh, and how about a 12" Collection??? THAT's what is still missing!

Well, then, that's more than I thought! LOL. Thanks for the info. Maybe we can get a reissue of this instead on DVD? :)

I love that performance of "Searching". One of my favorite songs.

Oh yes, all those 12" mixes need an official CD release. Didn't the press release for the remasters mention an INXS box set next year? Maybe we'll see them there. Hopefully, Giovanni Scatola won't be doing the remastering this time.

Agree, wouldn't that be nice with new high quality remaster PCM audio tracks. Otherwise I will eventually get around to doing it myself, already have a high quality digital transfer of this laserdisc.

Here a link to all of the videos INXS has made.
Check out the ones marked with - *indicates music video not available commercially - although some of these are aussie countdown videos, much like TOTP.

All the best,
