And here we are and it's June....

It's apparently only available from this link, for now, 3000 copies only

Kinda pricey.... but surely a nice item! Double DVD....

Nice item indeed but being released in 3000 copies only and made it available just for the Web Site browsers and gig visitors is tad sad. :-(

This DVD is fantastic, and the reason that only 3,000 copies have been made available is down to licensing.

It was quite an amazing result to get US footage from Saturday Night Live for Disc 2, as well as the rare BBC TOTP promo videos for We Take Mystery (To Bed) and White Boys & Heroes.

The cost of licensing the US clips in particular would have escalated hugely if the production run went over 3,000 copies. That's why it's a limited edition.

My guess is we'll see a one-disc version available commercially after the original 3,000 have sold out. This will then just have the official promo videos and no additional rare footage (or the superb 90 minute interview with GN by Steve Malins).

Cheers - grab it while you can...it's well worth £28

Cheers Steve for clearing it all out!

I think a CD/DVD collection of all the singles and promo videos of his would be the best after these original 3000 copies all have sold out. What do you say? [:)]

I got this in the mail yesterday. A nice collection to have. My one complaint about it is a lot of the TV appearances and early videos that were shot on videotape as opposed to film have had the 'videotape' look matted out of them, making them now look like cheap film. This includes the promos for Cars and We Are Glass. Oddly enough, the video for Complex retains that distinctive videotape look. I don't know why this has been happening more recently with DVD's. On the Best of OMD, the videotape looked was matted out of Red Frame/White Light and Enola Gay, and ALL of the Adam Ant early promos had this same process done. That one was heartbreaking because the distinctive look of music videos shot on videotape is part of their charm.

There is a nearly 2 hour interview in which Gary gives his viewpoint and recollections on nearly each of the clips on the collection. Some interesting insight, though he does get a bit meanderingly rambly at times.

This is by no means a comprehensive DVD collection, and even Gary talks candidly about videos he kept off the set because he hates them. But his best material is there, and for me it's the Beggars Banquet period only. I still hate the thrash/goth dreck he's been pumping out for 10 years now, and know he'll never do anything that interests me again. So this is probably my last Gary Numan purchase ever.
