reissued some of their releases after they've gone out of print? Does anyone know? Never knew they had released Holly & The Italians--just discovered it on amazon the other day when i was looking for her duet of I Got You Babe with Joey Ramone on CD. Their CDs are out of print now and selling for obscene amounts on the used market.

Don't think so...I've been looking for Polyrock's 2nd LP, Changing Hearts, issued by Wounded Bird for like 5 minutes, quickly out of print...can't even find it on secondary market!

It's possible, but not likely. When a label like WB licenses an album from a major, they have to set a "guarantee" (usually around 3K units). Most albums licensed to reissue labels don't really sell much beyond that. The guarantees are higher if it's a compilation (at least with some of the majors). As I've noted in other posts, most reissues of titles from the Warner archives are straight album reissues without bonus tracks, as adding the bonus cuts qualifies the album as a "compilation" in their eyes. Sony, however, will "sell the store" and allow all the bonus tracks you want without upping the guarantee.

Unless they've changed their rules in recent years, but I can't see why they would.

So sorry you missed out on those, because I was dying for the cd releases and suggest it to Wounded Bird plenty of times, even where they were Oglio. I have those reissues. Not sure if they will since Wounded Bird paid a lot to release them. The story of the cd releases is that Wounded Bird wanted to release those cds and Virgin had some expensive clause for licensing, I can't remember the details. Not even sure where I read that now. My memory isn't what it was.
Wounded Bird should be commended for going the extra mile for the release. Because those cds were so successful, the Fredricko demos were put out which was going to be the songs used for follow up to the second album. She fell out with Virgin.

Here is a cool interview with her from 2007 with info about each album of her career.
