Yes, hopefully it will feature original single versions missing on CD so far. And hopefully the sound will be good. And nice liner notes/info.

"Baring in mind what is actually available from the vaults at warners, we have had a helping hand in putting together the track listing and the sleeve of this double CD."

Yes, I believe that is intentional, as even the remastered CD doesn't have them, even the album replace the 7" version (that at the time was also used as album version) is replaced by the original unreleased version, first released in 2006. /JW

WTF??? I don't know what you just wrote there.

Anyways, the price seems pretty good for a double disc set, but I'll have to check what I don't have first.

It's complicated, but I try to show it in my discography
http://www.discog.info/blancmange.html

The version of Lose Your Love that came out in Oct 1985 as a single and also on the LP was 4:07, and apparently "remixed" before release by John Luongo and producer Stewart Levine.

Blancmange's original mix was not released until 2006 on the The Platinum Collection CD.

It was also used on the remastered CD BELIEVE YOU ME in 2008.

I hope that clears it. /JW

What's the difference between the single and the album version of Waves?
Besides, I can remember that there was a 12" version of Waves too.

Here's hoping the game above my head version is the one on the b side to waves which was a lot better then the extended version on the double disc of Mange Tout
I think this is a good collection for the price

Single version of Waves came out in Feb '83, 5 months after the Lp, and was a remix. Not sure what it sounds like, I guess you can listen to it on youtube.

Info on the so called 12" Version of Waves (which it isn't) is here

Looks quite good and interesting, just sad, that it is another missed opportunity to finally release a dvd with the videos... would have made a nice addition and a selling-argument.

The difference between the original and single versions of Waves is that the latter is a re-recording using orchestra whereas the former is a more subdued, with synth sound.

Why they feel the need to replace the original one with a remix on the reissues of an album is beyond me. You can always buy a compilation with a single mix...

Still, good to finally see the original version on CD.

On my list, since it is curated by the boys themselves. Finally a decent copy of "I would" and best of all I can get rid of that "The Third Course" compilation which I only have because of the excellent ditty "Running Thin" a minimal synth classic!!!
The prize here for me is Wasted (extended Version)-- Help me but I do not think I ever heard this version--anyone else have? it was never single and always felt it should have been. Sorry never was crazy about "Waves"

So then the Wasted Extended is an unreleased New archive track as well.
