this is awesome--plenty of rare stuff for a change. Didn't even know Keith Forsey did a solo album.

It's orderable now from Amazon UK (only 9 £ + postage)
http://amzn.to/QR24pD
It will be out in Uk first (24 Sep) then 2 Oct in Germany:

But price is much higher (25 Euro), I believe because it's manufactured in Uk only and then CDs are shipped to Europe.

Yes, maybe they could not get a license, or they could not find the master tape, or it would cost too much to use it, or maybe the compilers simply don't know about its existens...?

I'm quite interested in this Moroder compilation, but, as mentioned above concerning the thirteen minute mix of "Chase" I'm relieved that it won't be on the disc. I thought it went on too long, and it was just a simple edit that repeated the break from the second half of the original version. If there was more variety in this "mix" I would desperately covet it. But, as I know, we all love what we love and for people who like this version, hopefully it will wind up on CD one day.

Extended versions, I believe, were first made for reggae dub singles. Then also for disco single, but oftentimes the 12" singles were only ptomotional DJ copies and were never for sale to the general public (Donna Summer, Village People, etc). Then for "pop" the first 12" mixes came about around the year 1981, when the were often just edited together by cutting and pasting the tapes with scissors etc. (For example Fade to Grey late 1980). So I am surprised that the Chase was not a "proper" version. It also deåends on WHO did the "extension", was it the gang behind the album, or was it some record company engineer who extended it on order from the record company?

Funnily enough i know of a fantastic website that posted this 13 minute version of 'The Chase' on 10 September which is when i downloaded and promptly played it hearing it for the first time. Taken from Vinyl but a near-mint copy and done very professionally. Sounds pretty fantastic. 320 MP3 or FLAC

Is it selling it, or giving it away for free ("blog")?

Thanks. I found it

In general, as many of you probably know, finding "rare" tracks or "rare" albums these days is relatively easy using a simple google search adding the word "blog". While record companies fight them, in most cases what they offer for free is commercially unavailable and often vinyl-only. Like this promo-only 12".

I must say that the sound quality on "ON THE GROOVE TRAIN VOLUME 1 (1975-1993)" is absolutely great! It sounds like it's from the original tapes, and if it's not, I take my hat off to the remasters! /JW
