This is pretty awful but hopefully the rest of it will be better.

You may like "Heroes (Slow Industrial Version)" better which is far more COX than cover song. Personally both versions are fantastic but we like what we like.
It's funny that they're revisiting a track released in 2007. It would have been interesting to hear them to take on a more obscure Bowie song this time around.

Nice, I like the new version just as much as the earlier version. Of course I'm a bit more sentimental more with the earlier works pre-91.

I do like that one better but it still pales in comparison to the original. I love Xymox but they should know their limitations. He just doesn't have the chops vocally to do the song.

The "new" Heroes is also from 2007, originally named "Heroes (Pop Version)". Though the YouTube clip sounds like it's been mastered to today's standards be that good or bad.

"Blue Monday" is the one I think will be a disaster.

Thanks for heads-up crystal. I think you're being kind.
I already liked Heroes & keeping in my that they're 30 second clips only 2 tracks stood out to me.
*Alice (Sisters Of Mercy) SoM & CoX had a similar sound in their infancy so it kind of gives the track a more current sound.
*Something I Can Never Have (NIN) Immediately impressed with this one. Then again I hate NIN & Reznor's whiny, teen-angst vocal so I'm completely biased.
Sadly, my early opinion based only on short clips is thumbs down. Just a bit too much like hiring a local goth band to perform at your wedding.

I love Clan of Xymox but I'd rather they do their own stuff than covers. They really don't need to do that. Maybe one track here and there but not a whole albums worth. I did get the album though and about half of the tracks are listenable. When Ronny sings in his normal voice, it sounds ok. I don't know why he's been doing this on their cd's since 1997 but he tries to sound like the guy from Sisters of Mercy. Those are the tracks from the cd's I totally can't stand.
