Fine Young Cannibals deluxe reissues coming soon

From SuperDeluxeEdition.com site:

Edsel Records will reissue 2CD Deluxe Editions of both Fine Young Cannibals albums later this year, with a tentative release date scheduled for 29 October.

The Birmingham based band formed in 1984, and were made up of Andy Cox, David Steele (both formerly of The Beat) and singer Roland Gift. Their eponymous debut album was released a year later with single "Johnny Come Home" reaching the top 10 in the UK singles chart.

But it was with the second album, 1988's "The Raw & The Cooked", that the band saw massive success. "She Drives Me Crazy" and "Good Thing" both reached number one on the US Billboard Hot 100 and were both top ten hits in the UK. In 1990 a remix album "The Raw & The Remix" was released with multiple reworkings of tracks from "The Raw & The Cooked".

The band only ever released these two studio albums and various compilations appeared in the decades that followed, including "The Finest" from 1996 which included a new recording, "The Flame" (released as a single). A 2CD version of this compilation included a bonus disc entitled "The Rare And The Remixed" which contained hard to find tracks such as the Cole Porter cover "Love For Sale" (from the "Red Hot + Blue" charity album) and yet more remixes.

Edsel are working with Steele and Cox on these reissues, so that bodes well. We can expect a large selection of remixes to be included in these 2CD sets along with a 'mopping up' exercise to ensure all other non-album studio recordings (such as "The Flame") are included.

Sensoria - I really appreciate you alerting people on this forum to news on my blog SuperDeluxeEdition, but would you mind not copying and pasting entire articles here please.

It is accepted practise, I think, to provide an excerpt and then a link to read the whole article.

You did it with The Jam / The Gift and now with Fine Young Cannibals. I do go to the trouble to write these posts in the hope that people will visit my blog.

Obviously, if everyone just copies and pastes everything here, that will not happen.

I'm sure you had the best of intentions, and we're all music fans here, but if you and others could bear this in mind, I'd really appreciate it. :)

Thanks, Paul (editor, SuperDeluxeEdition)

Your article isn't copyright protected, is it?! I think 'your people' will still visit your (incredibly opinionated) site.

Yes, it is copyright protected.

If anyone moderates this board (?) they would know that it is not appropriate to copy entire blog posts from other sites and paste them here. Pretty basic.

Obviously not all individual contributors here are necessarily going to be aware, hence my post.

Hardly a controversial stance.

What a pity you can't remove posts over here, like you do at your own site huh ...

There should be a way to make it so you cannot copy and paste text. I know the original rememberthe80s site was like that. You could not even highlight the text to copy it.

It's easy enough to get around the copy/paste prevention thing, though.

And I'm of the opinion that it is bad manners to copy/paste entire articles from someone else's site.

Where on Sinclairs site does it say anything he writes is copy protected? If he was worried he could easily disable the copy function. Anyone else would be happy that attention was being drawn to their miserable excuse of a site, let's face it, he needs publicity after driving so many people away with his emperor-like moderating. With every post he makes himself look more of a weird character.

Don't know anything about that site's politics. I'm just saying what my opinion is, pertaining to anyone's website.

You, on the other hand, obviously have an axe to grind, and from the lack of support, nobody is really interested in your rants about superdeluxeeditions.com. You weren't even the guy who copy/pasted it.

You said it yourself, you don't know anything about that site, so why protect the man in the first place then ?!

He has supporters that would support him no matter what he does or says. Their replies are childish and predictable, more people ought to take a stance against these guys, otherwise the world would be full of them.....

There is no reason for Sinclair to act so defensive, as he should be glad of the attention being drawn to his s*** site instead of having a tantrum like a 5 year old....

Regardless of whether or not you agree with his opinions, his request is legitimate. Personally, I think SDE has a lot of good information and I tend to agree with a lot of the points he makes.

The recent Peter Gabriel debacle is a great example. A lot of people bitch about things but he actually sent a letter. Obviously a letter doesn't change the world but at least it shows effort.

Sucks that he may have deleted your replies at some point, but holding a personal grudge to this extent just makes you look much worse than him. There's way too much personal vitriol here, I don't really get it. No one says everyone has to be best friends but if you can't be civil, maybe go be insulting on another forum. Most of us don't want to see anyone's personal criticism - save it for the shitty reissues. :)

Luke, you're making yourself look a right cock having a go at everyone. He made a simple request. Your petty opinions are not welcome here it seems. Go away?
