According to the newely launched Classic Pop Magazine (
http://www.classicpopmag.com/ ;
http://www.facebook.com/ClassicPopMag), the first Electronic album from 1991 is about to be reissued.
All the album content as well as the release date are still unknown.

Re the Magazine sensoria has mentioned I think the majority of people on this site would really enjoy it. Some of the articles are more aligned to the commercial side of 80's music but there are some very good pieces and a nice round up of the recent reissues from this period

This is the first time I'm hearing about this. Sort of like the Q magazine except that it's focused mainly on 80s stuff. Looks quite good. Wasn't the Electronic album remastered a while back though ?

All the Electronic expanded editions were Itunes only. Hopefully, these will be physical products.... with real liner notes and real covers.
Still looking for my girl with auburn hair and tawny eyes...

It was remastered in 1994 and they put Getting Away With It on it which wasn't on the original release. I won't be bothering with this unless it has some unreleased stuff on it as i have all the maxi singles from that album and the remastering on the 94 reissue is very good.

I'm the lucky one who bought all the maxi-CD's from them on time, so I too wouldn't be bothered to buy this if there are no extras, but I doubt that there is more stuff than we already know. Besides, I'm not really interested in live material. I think there were only a couple of live gigs made with Johnny and Barney.
It's a very good album and reminds me of the Technique-era from New Order. I hope for some instrumental stuff (Some Distant Memory ?!) or dub mixes. Then I will buy it again.

Would be great if they could include a dvd with the complete set at 'Cities In The Park' 1991. 'Feel every beat' was released on a vhs in late 1991. According to a thread on the New Order Online Discussionboard, the whole sets of all bands supposedly still exist in the vault...

Taking that all of them live on iTunes already, I assume it will be a physical product with all of you've mentioned above, Spudboy. Keeping my fingers crossed as it was a truly fantastic album, their best, IMO.
Off topic: The magazine announced Seal reissues too.

Spot on, crystal! The "Cities In The Park" set was awesome and really deserved a CD or DVD transfer. I have the VHS in my collection and would love to see it re-released on DVD so bad. Those sets need to be dusted off.

Isn't that magazine just great, guys? Finally there's a mag that gives good quality '80s pop music, synth-pop...etc a credit. It promises a lot. Hopefully, it won't vanish after a few issues despite the price of about 5 quid. It needs our support to keep going for a very long time. Even though I like some of classic rock too, seeing so many classic rock and guitar related magazines out there just makes me bored. I'm still reading the mag, some articles even more than just once. It's like "Smash Hits" I'd say.

As others have said, I have all the CD singles from the era, and a damn fine set of singles they are, too. So there needs to be some unreleased stuff on this new reissue. As for released songs, I think the only tracks I'm missing are a promo-only edit of "Tighten Up" from a US promo CD, and the original 7" version of "Getting Away with It" without strings, which is vinyl-only.
A nice big fat booklet of liner notes would be good too. Can't wait for more news on this!

Yep, but Smash Hits when it used to be a good popular music magazine, up to 1986, 1987. When you could even find articles on the likes of Cabaret Voltaire, The The, The Sisters Of Mercy, The Cult, Bauhaus...etc etc in too. Smash Hits went down the pan when they started to celebrate all those bubblegum acts, 'boy-bands', 'girl-bands' and so on.

I finally tracked down a copy of the magazine. The Electronic reissue was listed as an October release, and the Seal reissues were listed for December 1. Seeing as the Electronic release didn't happen and there is no info on upcoming Seal reissues anywhere, I'm wondering how legit this information is in the first place?

I frankly think that magazine was talking a load of bollocks about these Electronic and Seal reissues.
